Fun fact, I was the one who came up with ranking MK as SS tier. I got the idea from Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn weapon levels, which is the first game in the series to introduce SS rank weapons.

There's one thing I like about Snake in Brawl is that he had his own unique SFX for his punching and kicking moves. I wish they could've kept those SFX for him in Ultimate

I was one of the people that actually thought ics got artificially boosted by mk. There was a bunch of random mid tier characters that actually had solid matchups against them Ike could consistently out range them Sonic could evade them forever with a lead Rob and Yoshi had the mobility and projectile combo that allowed them to engage with ics very safely. Toonlink was floaty and always had a bomb in his hands so chances to cg him were very limited. But all those characters got dumpstered by mk, so most ppl never got the chance to notice. At that point, the tier list basically just turned into a mk matchup chart

Brawl Diddy Kong was definitely one of my favorite iterations of the character. He may not be as utterly OP as the Smash 4 version, but his double bananas have endless potential for messing up your opponents.

Meta knight's down smash in brawl was frame 5 on the first hit and frame 10 on the second hit, you are not going to belive this but in ultimate it was buffed to be frame 4 on the first hit and frame 9 on the second hit (and yeah, it's the fastest smash attack in the game and the series) in ultimate this move is as fast as his jab, is 1 frame faster than shulk's and incineroar's jabs (their fastest move) and even the back hit is 1 frame faster than king dedede's jab

Brawl's top tiers are probably the strongest top tiers in the entire franchise. Brawl MK is still the strongest character in Smash, Brawl Snake is just a stage control monster, Olimar is just don't touch the ground, the Ice Climbers are just don't get grabbed, ZSS is just grab the items, Pikachu is just don't get grabbed again, Marth is just stay away, Diddy is just banana means you are F'ed.

I remember the first time i played the game with my brother as a young teen. We played a match with him using Meta Knight and me using Pit. Needless to say, my brother that didn't even knew how to play the game almost beat me. Even young me was like "wtf is wrong with this character his attacks are almost instant"

Hoping to learn more about mid tiers in another video. I'm certainly no pro at Brawl or anything, but something I'm curious about is why Toon Link is a mid-tier in Brawl. When I was a young kid, it always seemed like he was fast enough to just kite away anything that approaches, and the forward/back aerials were fast enough to knock someone away who tried to approach. Snake and Olimar are always praised for their projectiles, and yet Toon Link is even faster at clogging up the screen with them. And correct me if I'm wrong, but Meta Knight's sword has transcendent priority, meaning that projectiles would go through it if I understand correctly? So I always thought Toon Link did decently specifically in that matchup too. (To be fair, this is from many years ago, and I haven't touched the game in over a decade)

Basically, Toon Link is mid high tier, 13th. He lacks KO power, easy to whiff punish if he does go for a Ko option, his smash attacks can be DI'ed out of so you never get the strong final hit and his lack of range means he has no options for Meta Knight. Meta Knight just hard counters him in every way. No grab game as well. But, as you mentioned, he has a lot of good traits as well and placed well in tournaments where Meta Knight is banned.

@@CosmykTheDolfyn Yeah, pretty much. I mained TL back when I played Brawl, and MK/Snake were always a foil. I honestly think Link did better against Snake, as bad as he was, since he's pretty heavy himself, and can counter Snake's camping with his own camping. His down-air was also incredibly powerful. If Snake did try to approach, zair was a good shut down tool.

His lack of KO power and predictable recovery. Powershielding is also much easier in brawl and His projectiles are very slow, add a very punishable grab into the mix and you’re left with a character design that is almost entirely shut down by good blocking. He also had some very polarizing match-ups like DDD.

I can explain snakes up tilt. “Whenever Snake is in a ten feet range his ASS CHEEKS become a lethal weapon. You see, within 6 frames, Snake will lift his leg causing his ASS CHEEKS to clap in quick succession. Because of how fast his ASS CHEEKS clap together, it creates a shockwave that travels to the opponent. And thus, the energy that comes from his ass via shockwave is so massive, that it sends the opponent upwards”- UR2SLOW Its so disappointing that snake’s GYAT is gone

Your really coming into your own, you can make plenty of videos like this. Just change up and experiment with upload times and algorithm and I think you can be a big youtuber
