I wish thus was true but respectfully this movie wasn't any better. *Edit* Snyder Cut is 100% better than the theatrical release but overall it's still a below average movie. Did we need a scene of Alfred explaining how to make tea? What was the point of DeSaad? He was a generic middle man between Steppenwolf and Darkseid. Superman still singlehandedly bitch-slapped Steppenwolf. The Jl as a whole didn't need to come together to beat him. Would've been nice to Darkseid actually fight the JL. It would've been nice to see "warehouse Batman" instead of "shoot-em up Batman" and Batman is still the guy who should be recruited NOT the one doing the recruiting. We got more backstory but I was still left wanting more.

Actually, he was his own last choice to direct the prequels. Believe it or not, sometimes studio interference can come in the form of being forced to direct a movie YOU DON'T WANT TO DIRECT. He may have had complete creative freedom on "Episode I" and "Episode II," but he still didn't want to direct them himself. And it shows. He wanted OTHER directors to write and direct I and II, with him only being open to writing and directing "Episode III" (if even that). But the studio didn't want to piss off the DGA and directors who risked getting kicked out by working with Lucas, as he had a historic beef with them, so they essentially strong-armed him into writing and directing them himself.

The problem continuity-wise is that Martians and Kryptonians are about equal power-wise in the comics, each of them the most powerful species in the entire Universe. They're so powerful, in fact, that the Guardians quietly moved each species to a place which would nerf their powers to keep them from ruling the Universe. If Darkseid waited for the death of the last of the Kryptonians to make his move on Earth (which is what's implied in the movie), then why wasn't he given pause by the last of the Martians on the same planet?

A great movie that is so deeply connected to Zack Synder on so many levels. The connection that Zack Snyder has to the characters of DC goes beyond being a fan/storyteller. These characters are heroes because of the tragedy that they overcome. Being an adoptive parent like Zack Snyder ties you spiritually to the plight of orphans and children who have lost parents. Like Superman, Batman, Superman, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, etc. The league makes these characters whole.

@raphshady Well let’s think about it for a moment. Slow motion was mainly used with Wonder Woman and The Flash, who are fast. It’s cool to see what they are actually doing in those scenes. For example, Wonder Woman blocks and dodges two bullets in slow motion before the scene returns to its normal speed. It’s a visual representation of the power. Snyder shows you what these super powered people are doing before he allows you and your brain to figure out the rest. Some slow motion scenes did go for too long but I wasn’t too worried about that. Slow motion is a stylistic choice for Zach

I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the reason why The Irishman was released on Netflix vs theaters was because Martin Scorsese made such a long movie that he was able to make what he wanted without restriction on time.
@viciousbane5693 жыл бұрын
As well that they didn’t think it was going to make money in theaters
@jeremy1447133 жыл бұрын
it was mainly because he wanted WAY to much money. The budget for the film was $160 million dollars...... for a mafia movie..... that means it’d have to make about $350 million dollars to break even. That’s not going to happen. It’s not a superhero movie or blockbuster. No studio in their right mind was going to pay for that. And they didn’t. Netflix offered because they want to build their brand are okay with losing money if it means big directors and actors are working for them and building their brand. The movie had no right to be that expensive when movies like “the invisible man” are being made for $7 million, great budget, cast, cgi looked good and it made almost $150 million. Over 20 times its budget.

The fight below the Gotham harbor really showed how messy the Theatrical Cut's version of the fight was. ZSJL has the League doing specific roles and sticking to it. Wonder Woman takes on Steppenwolf, Batman kills the parademons swarming her while Flash and Cyborg does rescue, only coming back to take on SW. The outcome also showed that the League was competent and *could* take on SW but lacked the manpower to deal with him and the Unity.
@leandrolima99983 жыл бұрын
Zack Snyder's version is really another film. Similar to the extended version of Batman v Superman, with more screen time the director manages to deliver a good job to the viewer. And, following the very "Zack Snyder" pattern since The Man of Steel, this more violent approach of the heroes will surely lead to debates between fans and critics. Anyway, the film is much more fluid and each character was well developed throughout the plot. With more screen time Snyder delivers a better job. The gloomy atmosphere that hangs in the air all the time, the feeling of mourning of the characters, arcs well resolved, characters that really have their role and their relevance in the story, that make cohesive decisions and that make the plot move forward, flash being really the flash that should always be, batman, being a great leader, cyborg really being the backbone of the story, wonder woman and aquaman I don't need to comment, and he, the man, the man of steel, like Zack Snyder knows how to work this character . 10/10

Yeah....because Snyder had 4 hours. Whedon had to fit everything into 2 hours so he had to cut all the backstories. They needed to make orgin films for the characters if they wanted to rather than trying to cram it all into a Justice League movie. Getting Cyborg's tacked on orgin story is similar to if we'd had Bucky's origin story tacked on to the Avengers. It doesn't make sense. Cyborg wasn't even part of the Justice League first of all. Then they tried to cram in an origin story for a side character. It makes no sense. They shouldn't even have tried to cram the Flash stuff in there either.
