That's his price for fetching beers
@mattmartian16583 жыл бұрын
Wowwas curious and here it is. I taught my dog to grab me a beer. Similar tactics. He passed away 20 yrs ago. Still miss him. His name was Farmer. It was actually easy. He already knew how to fetch. So I started with treats. I put the treat I side the fridge. As he watched. Then I would tell him to fetch the treat. In had a towel tied to the handle. I showed him .if you pulled the towel the door would open. So after a few times. He figured it out. Then showed him what a beer was. Told him to fetch the beer and he did. It took him a few days. He was a half lab / border collie mix. He learned everyrhing fast. Frisbee commands. Man he was a great companion.

@ArmednotTriggered8 жыл бұрын
Haileybeauty101 I really enjoy having it on hand! His videos are awesome, but it's so easy to find things in the book and he goes into more detail. I definitely think it is worth it! My last experience with a puppy was a bit...messy. She was a great dog, but I winged it with training and definitely see that structure and consistency would have benefitted her!
@luckydog20008 жыл бұрын
+LegallyBrunette and Beautiful does it say anything about teaching you dog to drop a toy. Because my dog would steal little foam balls and we will tell her to drop and she would not do it. Know she has a toy and she thinks she is a bad girl. She is impossible to teach drop now when she 6.

Hi Zak! I have an 11 week old Akita/Malamute mix that I rescued 8 days ago. She is amazing already! Not only is she very smart, but she has already shown me so much loyalty and brought us so much joy. She is very obedient and eager to please when I am the one commanding her but does not listen very well when my fiancé asks her to do the same things. So far, I have trained her only using your methods and it has been so rewarding for both her and I but not so much for anyone else who needs her to listen to them. I am her "primary" trainer as I am home most often. So far she has completely mastered sit, stay, shake a paw, come, and leave it with me, even with big distractions like our cats, toys, other dogs, cats driving by, and treats. We have young children (a three year old and a six year old) and it's important that if I'm not around, she will still listen to others. The vet expects her to be 65lbs at least when she's grown as she is almost 20lbs now. I'm worried if she doesn't start listening to others she could potentially potentially be a danger to my kids and the public while I am not around. She seems to love everyone who comes near but with kids she seems to think that they are litter mates and can get a little rough while playing. It makes me worry for her future. She is so eager to love on everyone who wants to love on her. It's cute now while she's little but won't be when she's big. How do I get her to listen to others and not just me? She seems to ignore everyone except for me. Why? Please help!

I was friends with a guy that had two large Doberman Pinschers. He thought it would be cool to teach one or both to fetch beer. It works great. He would say fetch me a beer. The dog would go in the kitchen open the refrigerator door and bring back a cold beer. This seems like a wonderful trick. One night one of his Dobermans got hungry and since it knew how to open refrigerator doors it had no trouble eating the leftover roast. Even spending money on obedience classes couldn't break this Doberman of the habit of rummaging around for midnight snacks. A little remodeling to put the refrigerator someplace where the dog couldn't get at it was necessary. What wasn't necessary is me laughing and laughing fetch me a beer
