The first time I stepped foot in a vet my puppy had already jumped up on the scale and weighed himself before I knew what was happening. Then the second time he had and allergic reaction to his vaccinations and his face swelled up double its size, he then realized it's a place of feeling better. And I give him lots of treats there. Then he woke us up screaming and having a seizure (still an allergic reaction) and didn't move for two hours while we waited for the vet to open. When it opened, he limped over to it and ran in the doors with his tail wagging. Somehow he managed to teach himself to love the vet, and anytime we walk past it he tries to run in the doors

@djthereplay3 жыл бұрын
Actually +Sar P , You helped in the teaching your puppy to love the vet by giving them lots of treats there because through that you helped the puppy connect what would normally be their worst nightmare to something positive . Way to go !! I used to get scarred and anxious and overwhelmed by visiting the doctor and like when i get too far that way , it leads to me getting hyper angry which leads into like defense mode and some "Beavis and Butt-head" words coming out of my mouth that regularly don't and i am expressing myself in ways that i normally wouldn't but letting you know that what is happening is aggravating me and hurtful whereas when a dog or a cat gets overwhelmed and stressed and frustrated , etc . it leads into getting hungry because they cannot move furniture because their legs and their paws are too small and they cannot speak on what is hurting them or stopping their peaceful mindset so therefore their biggest defense is their mouth and that's where the biting comes into play . This is where a number of owners , groomers and veterinarians miss the ball . Once again , when a pet gets angry they get hungry . When you manage a pet's anger fueled hungar you just avoided the worst of the agression which leads to desensitization which leads to tolerance because the pet is destracted from whatever negative feelings they would otherwise be dealing with .

When my sister came over I had her touch my puppy all over, paws, teeth, ears, stomach all while rapid firing treats. I also noticed he was scared of dogs barking so for a few days before the vet visit, we had multiple training sessions with playing videos of dogs barking at a volume he can handle while giving tons of treats (since we knew there would be dogs in the waiting room). His first visit was today and it wasn't perfect, but he almost fell asleep in the waiting room and loved the vets! Since hes so little we use dog safe cat squeeze treat tubes and this helped so much.

When I take my dog Annie into the car she starts to shake and get scared when the car starts to move and then when the car stops she cuddles up to me a countines to shake and when I open the car door so that I can get her out of the car she gets scared of places she either hasn`t seen in a while or has never been to.

Life With EOE exercise a lot and first get the dog used to the car when it's nit moving. treat it when it goes near the car and then move onto getting it to go in voluntarily, once totally comfortable with being in a still car try starting the engine. that's what I did with Tsunami and he loves car rides now!
@RubberDuckyByah7 жыл бұрын
Great advice! I also find constantly talking to your dog helped mine, so she know I'm ok with it. Also, destination is important. If every time she goes in the car, the result is not good, she'll fear it. We started taking her in the car (just to the park across the street), so she has begun to associate car rides with park time.

hello. i adopted a 2years old stray dog and she was a history of fear against people. she is scared by people and new places. she is ok for the first minutes at the vet's but afterwards she started barking and wants to leave , to be away from them. as it is not possible at that moment she became a little agrressive, deflecting her fear on the closest person, us most of times, but also the vet. as the vet is not the most loving person, she feels and the chemistry goes wrong. what to do to make her more comfortable. i have to add we live outside the city and going to the vet means 1 driving hour. she arrives bores, scared high level agitation ....thank you for helping her and us

Can you please make a video about what gender you should get as your first puppy
@harinibaskar95657 жыл бұрын
Personally, I don't think gender really matters as your first puppy. I am getting a male in a month and he's already been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and he's has already had a check up at the vet by the breeder, so I guess it really depends on what you want, different breeds are also different so I think you really have to keep these 2 things in mind, but I'm not an expert so you can double check.

Hi zak i dont now how to stop my dog jack 3 moth old from getting up or jumping at my tables when we are eating . Please help love your vidios
@7thCobweb7 жыл бұрын
Eli Lopez Zak has a video on kitchen counter "surfing", search through his videos. The method he uses can also be applied to a table with food. Find the video and use Zak's technique, but try it in small steps. If your dog is begging and making noises, that problem can be fixed by strictly ignoring him (do not give him attention! Dogs love attention and you would just reward him with that, which will make the dog more likely to show that certain behavior!).
@thodorisnousias92657 жыл бұрын
hey Zak. My dog Muffin, is 13 months old and gets very stressed and scared when i take her for walks. There are a few things in particular that i have noticed that scare her, like the garbage truck e.t.c, but generally she is afraid for no reason. This behavior comes and goes from time to time but now, a week after her sterilization it is at its worst. She wont even step outside the door and if i try to drag her she pulls back trying to escape crying. i have tried multiple times with treats and toys with no result. the only conclusions that i have come to are that she feels more at ease when we walk together with other people she knows (my uncle and his two great dogs in particular), and that she gets extremely anxious when restricted (with a short lead) than when she has plenty of space an the freedom to move around. The second though is difficult to exploit because we live in a busy neighborhood with a lot of car circulation and its not very safe to use a long lead. i would love some advice and if possible, a video about walking fearful dogs or something relevant to that would be great! Thanks for all your great videos!
