He has had a beef with Florentino for a very long time (way before the Super League was a thing), with constant legal disputes and hostile declarations from Tebas. I believe he probably wanted to be the RM president at some point, and tried to position himself to become so, but at this point he has alienated almost every RM fan to the point that's now impossible. So pointing out he is a RM fan like that has to mean he defends the clubs interests is completly missleading and out of touch with the reality of Spanish football.

It's not just illegallity honestly. Greece for example has two major service TV, that broadcast football. They have the big leagues kinda split between them. If I want to have both of them, sports packs included, I'm looking at around 55-60 euros per month. In a country that the minimum wage, which in many cases is the actual wage, is around 800 euros. So illegal streaming it is.

Tbf the laws in Spain could be different but here in the UK and Ireland its not the purchasing of illegal streams or obtaining software to watch illegal streams thats the crime, its the selling which is illegal. Which is hard to police because its usually done in places far away with little policing on the matter such as China, Turkey and even Russia. So I have no idea what he plans to do to combat this issue. It already has an easy fix, ask Sky and TNT to lower their eye watering prices.

Regarding the piracy side, it reminds me of a quote from game developers CD Projeckt in 2011 after one of their games got heavily pirated - their response? I'll be honest. I'd love to watch European Football here in Canada, but damn it's too expensive. So I just don't even watch it. I follow a few teams via news and tables, but that's about it. So it is a service issue. It's kind of like the NHL. The only reason I can watch those games, is because it's tied to my TV package. So I just log in via my TV provider and I can stream my team. Otherwise I'd be shafted.
