Poatan means "hands of stone" in Pereira's native language a very fitting name because his left hook is considered on of the most devastating moves in all of combat sports. and yes he's pretty much a pure striker he was a champion in 2 weight classes in kickboxing before going into MMA where became a champion in 2 weight classes as well. He's currently the UFC light heavyweight champ and defended his belt 3 times in 7 months which I think is the record for quickest time to defend a belt that many times.
