Also shoutout to Arby’s for the most discontinued menu items. Three Cheese and Bacon was my personal favorite and the only thing I got from Arby’s for the longest time. The best discontinued sandwich ever. God I wish I still remembered the taste. The Loaded Fries were ok, cafeteria bacon was included. The best part was you had so much cheese sauce, that you’d just use it as a dipping sauce. Also Taco Bell’s Chipotle Grillers and soon to be discontinued Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito. Both are good.

I actually loved the doubled down dog because I wake up really early in the morning and during my morning jogs. I would stop by a newly opening KFC and get a fresh one immediately. It's basically a breakfast by that point and I just find it really memorable.

I always love seeing how different fast food chains try to adapt to different markets. One of my favorites is McDonalds managing to get a foothold in India, where beef is basically a cultural taboo due to cows being a sacred animal. So in India, they went all-in on their other key items - Chicken and potato - and jumped onto the idea of making plant-based patties. As for another Arby's abomination, I remember they had a trio of sandwiches with beef brisket, pork belly, and smoked turkey. These alone were passable in theory, but they then had the fourth secret final boss: The Smoke Mountain. Which was every serving of meat from those sandwiches, shoved into the same bun. I willingly subjected myself to the pork belly sandwich by itself, and refused to touch the Smoke Mountain because being in _proximity_ would probably have killed me.

There's also a little context that's missing from the McDLT's disappearance. McD's used to have that heatlamp set up where they made a lot of the food ahead of time and had it sit out there until you ordered it. Now, they tend to make things "fresh," having the warmed patties and nuggets in their own little housings. Also, they do technically have everything to make a McDLT, they use them on the deluxe chicken sandwiches and maybe if you can find a place that still has the Daily Double (a double cheeseburger or McDouble with lettuce, mayo, and tomato). You probably can special order a side of lettuce and tomato, and they might just put it in a tray or cup or something. As for the Double Down, I still get confused by how it blew everyone's minds. When you think about it, it's essentially something that would otherwise be a normal chicken sandwich on the menu, but without the buns. So technically it's less unhealthy without those carbs that would otherwise be on the same fried chicken, cheese, and bacon burger. It was probably really big with the Atkins Diet crowd.

I highly recommend you recreate the KFC Cheetos Chicken Sandwich. For about $30, you can buy four Crispy Colonel Sandwiches and the necessary ingredients to transform them. The Cheetos sauce is easy to make in 2023 since Cheetos-brand boxed mac & cheese is readily available on store shelves--just mix the provided powder with 2% milk and butter and you have it. That makes enough sauce to cover four chicken strips and make the four sandwiches. It's worth it for the novelty alone, and the meals are great to boot.

the sweeter taste of spaghetti in the phillipines is something born out of necessity turned popular tradition in the country the same way early italian immigrants in america had access to different ingredients than they do in their homeland (more access to bananas than tomatoes hence the banana ketchup), essentially what it boils down to is the previous generations having to grow up on that stuff passing it down to their children (because that's what they knew at the time) who learned to love the stuff, i got a soft spot for it even though i do prefer my current country's food a lot more!

I will defend Arby's on five pillars. 1. As mentioned, good fries 2. Good sauces (Horsey sauce is great, we need more horseradish in fast food) 3. They have the best cookies in fast food (i.e. the salted carmel chocolate chip, rip the double chocolate) 4. They are one of two places I know of that have a Mocha Shake And 5. The gyros are okay But I will hyper diss on two points 1. I hate deli meat sandwiches (not really that much a diss I guess) And 2. THEY REMOVED THE POTATO CAKES!

The little bags or boxes of cookies or the baked ones that had more than the Chocolate Chip ones they have today? I miss the little bags of McDonaldland Cookies. They were like Teddy Grahams, but shaped like the mascot faces. They had them up until maybe 2008 or 9 or so before they switched over to the baked goods sales. The closest thing I ever found to the taste were Minions cookies Nabisco or Keebler made in 2020 or 21 when the second movie was supposed to come out, but those lasted maybe a year and a half and are discontinued themselves.

When I was younger McDonalds served more than one cookies that we have today. McDonald’s served chocolate chip, oatmeal, and plain sugar cookies. Sometimes for the holidays there were sugar cookies with holiday sprinkles (little round ones). The sugar cookies where amazing, they were soft and chewy and (I think idk) it’s rare to get a stale one. Those are the ones I remember

Ppl who judge Burger King has every right to bc you don't need to taste their food to know they're food is almost always bland. But ppl who judge Arby's seem to be those who have never been there and just don't like the idea of the food they sell OR they went once but had a bad experience with them (which I can understand that but 1 time at 1 location doesn't give you the full picture) I know Burgers King is bad across the board bc I've been to multiple locations in multiple cities throughout the years and they have the same quality in taste throughout, bland. Anyway, Arby's gyro is really tasty and their au jus and reubens are pretty good too.
