I’m in love with the seemingly unanimous decision that clams are especially stupid in comparison to other animals. My invertebrate zoology professor has on many occasions commented on how stupid a lot of bivalves are, but he usually name drops clams specifically. Also as far as I’m aware, cephalopod anuses will be located in their mantles near their siphons

When my buddy was the manager at the Seaside aquarium in Oregon he told me to go ahead and touch the arm of the giant octopus and said it's pretty friendly but when I did it's arm reached up and grabbed a hold of my arm which freaked me the hell out. My natural reaction was to pull away and I accidentally lifted this massive octopus all the way out of the shallow tank thinking that it's huge beak was about to bite my arm off...... Apparently, come to find out , it was just curious.
