Did you know that there’s some funny overpressure spots on the 292 with HESH from British 120s? The little welds on either side of the gun towards the hull as well as commander’s cupola and gunner’s hatch can all cause overpressure death from certain angles. Technically, Leopard 2A5 is a Strv 122 with removed features. They were both developed from the Leopard 2 Improved. And export Leopards are oftentimes better than Bundeswehr variants. 2A7V was only put in service in 2020.

Relikt isn't thick at all, it works by disrupting the penetrator as it passes through it, by exploding the sandwiched plates apart, resulting in a shear force on the penetrator that effectively breaks it up and/or skews its trajectory, before it hits the armour behind the ERA. The Object 292 is easily an 11.0 tank. Even without thermals, a coax, etc., its gun just shreds through everything at its BR. Doesn’t help that its being spammed now, ruining Ground RB for many who didn’t grind or bought through to it

Welp its never gonna happen, but moving this thing up to 10.7 would probably suffice. Currently its: 1. armor is actually good (contrary to what appeared to be the popular belief that this was gonna be a 'glass cannon'), more than enough KP to deal with ~ 410 ~ 480 mm of pen which it regularly faces on average (especially at range), and if moved up to 10.7 will still be able to use this in downtiers, and in an uptier it will be at a disadvantage, as it should be, but only armor wise, its clearly got enough fire power to deal with 11.7 MBTs, and equivalent mobility to keep up with everyone. 2. Only facing downtiers right now (unless the player puts it in a higher BR lineup), because 10.3 lineups cant get to 11.7 and the 9.0~9.3 grinders are common, so its a downtier practically every match. 3. It _doesnt_ have HK or thermals, but neither do a lot of tanks at 9.7. So. It should be potent in a downtier, and "balanced" in an uptier at 11.7. I see no reason why it'll do poorly at 10.7, I absolutely see reason why 9.0 tank grinders are kicking themselves right now, because every time they hit the battle button, its an uptier with about 16 of these tanks rolling around. Its pretty bad. And 9.0 tanks are still using 1st or 2nd gen darts, so they have > 400 mm of pen very commonly, meaning they cant even reliably pen this this thing frontally. None of it matters tho! I'm reminded of a certain 8.7, quad-tracked, 130mm doom tank that rolled around at that BR for waaaay too long. So I doubt gaijin will move it currently, particularly with the amount of people playing it/creators praising how fun it is.

The 2A7V was actually Germany's own initiative and I can nowhere find that it was based on the development of the Strv122's armour, let alone even that of the 122A which is a ridiculous claim. It is better (next to it being newer, so new and better materials are used and there was over 30 years of R&D time in between this) than that of the Strv122's and also better than that of the 122B's. Funny thing even, the Strv122's armour isn't even actually Swedish, it's MEXAS-H which is in fact German. The 2A7V's use brand new produced hulls which were also designed to have the latest D-tech incorperated in the front and thus upgrading the protection to the same level as the turret, which was one of the requirements. They even incorporated the knowledge of the use of their 2A7's and developed further on this. Also, a lot of stated pen figures are LoS thickness against a sloped plate. Since APFSDS normalizes, the LoS pen against an angled plate can significantly exceed the LoS pen against a flat plate. The 1000mm figure is probably against a slope.

You’re still aiming for the standard tiny weakspots that soviet tanks have while they can just click anywhere and kill you instantly. Second point: the T-80U may have less power than NATO tanks, but gaijin messed with numbers - there is currently a bug report in demonstrating that Swedish trials demonstrated it was accelerating twice as fast in game than irl. If you’re struggling with turret positioning that is entirely a skill issue. Been clubbing with it so far - it’s ridiculously overpowered comparable only, perhaps, to the T-80B, and that’s not even close. Swing the hull to aim the turret like any remotely intelligent player would do. If you miss with a 2km/s gun I’m afraid all I can tell you is skill issue, you’re bad at the game.
