I only really got into David Bowie after he died...he was so prolific...so many songs. Great job Jose!
@JoseOrozcoGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, Sean! Yeah, Bowie is one of those artists that have more than one persona. He changed his musical style and look depending on the era. The 70s Bowie is probably the most classic incarnation of himself, but I love the Let's Dance-era Bowie also. The 90s and beyond also brought some fresh and interesting material, too. Thanks for watching and for the compliment! 👍🏻👌🏻

@JoseOrozcoGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Thanks bluesrocker, that's great to hear! I agree, I think it's good to have as many guitar parts shown as possible, since songs usually have more than one guitar playing at any time. It's hard to cram all of them into a single screen sometimes, though, as including multiple guitars and guitar tabs altogether poses the risk of cluttering up the image and confusing someone more than clearing things up for them haha!! I tried to be careful to be as clear as possible and not over-do it 😂 Anyway, thanks for tuning in and for giving your feedback 🤘🏻🔥🎸

That was just freakin' awesome, man! You nailed that iconic rock riff (like always). I have a funny confession to make... sometimes... when my mind is absent... I think after hearing the guitar in the intro that this is a Boston song HAHAHAHA.... shhh.... don't tell anyone :D Fantastic cover, my friend. I LOVE your videos.
@JoseOrozcoGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Thanks my man!!! HAHA you're not the only one bro 😂 When I was learning this one, I kept thinking how the intro sounded a lot like 'More Than A Feeling's intro 😂 And it's because the chords are very similar. The difference is that the first chord is a G Major in this song and D major in the Boston one, making those the keys for each, respectively. The chords progression intervals are basically the same though (don't take my word for it though, I'm not a music theory expert). It does sound A LOT like it though! Glad I'm not the only one that noticed. I wonder if Tom Scholz or Bowie ever realized the similarities in the intros 🤔 Guess we'll never know haha!! I appreciate your comment 🤘🏻

At 1:51 it says play the 9/4/5 frets on D string, but I hear 7/4/5 on G string. Sounds good to play both of those in unison with double stops.
@JoseOrozcoGuitar Жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew, thanks for commenting! You are right. There are actually 2 guitars doing different melodic lines and I recorded both, but only displayed one of them in the tab. Looking back, I should have done both and if I could, I would edit in the second one but, unfortunately, there's really no way to do that. I believe you're right about 7-4-5 on the G string being the 'harmony' guitar in question. Good ear! Sorry about that minor omission! I'll be more careful in the future about trying to include everything.

Thanks for this video. Super well executed. I was stumped for hours trying to figure out what Mick was playing over the B minor in measure 2 of the verse. Is it really just a single B? It sounds so much richer than that. How do you do it?
@JoseOrozcoGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Hey John, thank you so much for your input 🤟🏻 so yeah over that chord there are actually two electric guitars playing in harmony. However, I just included what I consider the ‘main’ one. Looking back, I should have probably included the second guitar because without it the effect isn’t the same. I’ll see what note I played in harmony with the one in the video and will be sure to get back to you in this comment thread! Thanks and keep rocking man 🔥🤙🏻

Nice work! How do you edit in the tab with scrolling bar? Thanks
@JoseOrozcoGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Rick!! Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed this one! So lately with these newer videos, I’ve been designing the TAB in an online program called Canva. It’s an awesome tool for simple but cool designs and whatnot. Every different page of TAB I do manually (I made a blank TAB template with just the 6 lines and then I change the numbers for each new section). Then I download all the pages of TAB and import them into Final Cut where I sync them up with the video. For the scrolling bar, I use keyframes and manually sync it up with the audio and the TAB numbers. It takes a VERY long time, but it’s actually very simple once you get the hang of it. Unfortunately, there’s no way around the number of hours put into doing it, but I usually do a little bit each day so it’s not overwhelming. Hope that helped explain the process a bit! Thanks for the question 👍🏻🤘🏻
