I have a set of the first series...just a little heavier and touch more to a traditional cymbal sound than these. To me it makes them a bit more versatile, but they still retain that wonderful dry quality! :)

I just want to clarify for some that Zildjian had a dry line out loonng ago. Zildjian’s first “dry line” just absolutely does not compare to this newer line from 2017(?) These are incredible and I prefer them over almost all other dry cymbal lines . Istanbul signature line is nice. Meinl extra dry lines are nice . But these Zildjians, man...... It is good to have different tastes, though . So we are not all robot musicians :) Let me say it one more time. If you are considering these . Pull the trigger. These are incredible . Absolutely incredible. I am not even a zildjian guy .
@J4B73 жыл бұрын
I have the first set and I love them, but I guess that would depend on application and user taste? Mine were used more for mainstream jazz...if your application was for something heavier or Rock then I could definitely see the attraction with the new series. The old ones to me were a little more versatile, but as you say it's nice to have enough choices to find our own sounds! :)

Outside of the Big and Ugly series, I’m surprised Sabian hasn’t introduced a dry line. My set up is primarily Zildjian K’s (one A Custom and one EFX mixed in) with 3 of them being these Special Dry’s and they’re by far my favorite. The 19” crash is the perfect crash in my opinion. Meinl and Istanbul also have beautiful dry cymbals.

Just to play some of them, especially certain ones, and certain combinations, I would just basically feel so honored to even be able to play on such of these works of art. I gotta hand it to Zildjian on everything I've had the honor of playing. Well, idk about the titanium full honest disclosure, but hey, I digress. Some oldersuff especially I've played on, absolutely masterful sound. Truly earth shaking. All that said, I'd absolutely love to hear how some of these dry crispies sound matched up in different ways with some bright shimmery Z Custom Mastersoumds, and OLD DRY A's.

Larnell gives a description and follows up with "if that's what you need..." that is a constructive review. I've noticed a number of folks who don't like or need cymbals with short/extremely short sustain/ decay cymbals or don't like trashy type sounds, though make comments " like sound like crap", or emotional type responses. Nice to see some type of discussion going on here that doesn't add to the joke, "what do you call a drummer with half a brain',...."talented".
