FYI there 2 type dish we have here : indonesian dish / national dish : bakso, nasi goreng, mie goreng, godo-gado, soto, sate, etc, that dish you can find anywhere here in indonesia, local dish : gudeg (yogyakarta region), babi guling (bali island), papeda (papua / east region) thats dish is serve better if you can go to that food origin, if maybe someone ask whats your favorite indonesian dish, we will give you answer our national dish, :) i think better if you ask some local guide / people there (wherever are you now) to give you information what dish you should try here. so you will have outentic taste of our local indonesian food. so you have natural experience, and understand better about our diversity. have nice and enjoy your trip :)

Wow hope you guys enjoy exploring Jogjakarta, because Jogja is more like a traditional city.. I actually born in Jakarta, but now lived in Jogja for more than 7 years, and i loved it.. Maybe if you like spicy, you can try eat Oseng-Oseng Mercon which is not far from Malioboro street and Kraton Jogja, it really spicy, i actually cannot handle it even i love spicy food. And also you can explore the north of Jogja, because there is a mountain called Mount Merapi and in there you can exploring the remains of Mount Merapi eruption or you can go to the South of Jogja like Gunung Kidul to see the good beaches. cheers..

If you still in Jogja, one of the most underrated culinary spot (at least for non Indonesian) in Jogja is coffee shop. You can at least make on video full of coffee reviews. Indonesia called kopi for coffee, and Jogja has is own coffee varieties called Merapi. For the place, You can try street food Kopi Jos, coffee with charcoal near Tugu Train Station. Fancy coffee resto like Kebon Ndalem, Cerita Kopi, or Loko. Or you can try more traditional way like in Kopi Klotok or Merapi Kopi.
