What you said at the end is the most instructive part. When you're trying to solve a puzzle, you know it's a puzzle - so you keep looking for the beautiful move. But when you're playing a game, you tend to choose the 'obvious' moves without looking for the beautiful move. Great video!

I like the Lasker explanation. With this I can finally watch master games without feeling so lost.

6:34 - what if Ba5? Then Ne4 Bxd8, Nxd2 Be6 and the Rook is untouchable. (Ne7++) Eventually White will win a piece with this combination... I think.

The way he pronounces Zwischenzug :) I'm from germany (this word is german) and it just sounds funny, when a non german guy speaks german :D Nice Video btw. LOL

Really like your stuff always well explained. You may have already done a video on this but do you think you could maybe do a video on how to capitalise on having either a bishop or knight pair against an opposition who doesn't, thanks!

Great videos! I've just watched your introduction to the channel video and I was so impressed by your focus, commitment and sheer ducking will, that I've decided to donate. I don't really need the videos, as I only play for fun. (I also didn't' realise I can just Paypal, so I had to go for membership and then cancel). Anyhow, please post some videos on your progress, ( maybe I just didn't look for them hard enough) and your FIDE link. Good luck!

1:35 from the first position, if white goes 1. Rd8+ the king can't go to g7 because it blunders the bishop on a2 ( 1. Rd8+ Kg7 2. Qxc1 Qxd8 3. Qb2+ King moves 4. Qxa2). So, in that case, the best is just 1...Qxd8 2. Qxc1. That's why Rd8+ doesn't work.

Love your videos but consider switching the theme of the videos to dark.

I will probably change up the layout of the videos at one point. I like the simple light that they have now. I guess it's subjective.
@vanks94224 жыл бұрын
@@HangingPawns Yeah its kinda cool, but exhausts the eyes. If you look at the other chess channels, they all have darker themes.

You have to make a Zwischenzug, because your opponent is then in Zugzwang and then you have time to make Luft for your king. Now, find a sentece with more german chess words. And then say fast 10 times "German chess Genius".
