Thanks so much for watching this video! 😊 Don’t forget to download our labor preparation and induction guide here (careaboutlittleones.com/labor-preparation-guide) in which we show you how to prepare your cervix for labor! A ripe cervix can help you increase your chances of a spontaneous start of labor at the end of your pregnancy.

Hi there 😊, we know this is very frustrating. However, we really would not worry too much! If you look at your cervix, you can clearly see that your body is preparing for labor. The rest will come. And as we explain in this video, sometimes, a baby only engages after labor has started... In brief: at this point, there is really no need to worry! We have hardly ever seen cases like yours ending up having complications... We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Your vidoes are destressors for me, thank you. I'm week 38 plus and my baby is moving around as he pleases. Any doctors I've seen immediately suggest a c-section. It irritates me so much. I really don't understand why so many doctors want to NOT wait for things to naturally occur, not giving it A chance, and would prefer rushing for a c-section. Why do they do that? Profit??
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 2 ай бұрын
Good question! We have had this discussion many times with doctors. In some countries, it clearly is profit. In other countries, it might have to do with liability (i.e. what if something goes wrong during a natural delivery and the doctors did press for a C-section? - some countries have brutal laws), sometimes it may be lack of experience... the list is long... However, luckily, not all of them are the same. Some are really super supportive! We have met many fantastic OBs and midwives! We believe doctors should inform about the risks (of BOTH - because C-sections are not riskless either) and then just leave the woman be. After all, it is HER decision...

Hi, I'm a first time mom and I'm 36 weeks 1 day pregnant (EDD is 13Sep). Baby is in cephalic position with posterior placenta but the baby's head is still mobile and not engaged. Currently I'm doing butterfly stretches, 45 mins walking, 25 deep squats. Is there any chance to engage baby's head?

Hi there 😊, please do not stress out too much about it! Most babies engage in or after week 36! Some of them even only engage AFTER labor has started. But as long as they do engage at some point, there is normally not a problem! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

So if baby is already head down should we AVOID the forward inverted hands on the floor position? I’m unclear on this and can never find the answer. I don’t want baby to flip into breach after doing this move since baby is currently head down position. But since baby is head down then will this move help it engage lower- so still good to do or no?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 7 ай бұрын
Hi there 😊, the forward leaning position is (normally) mostly done in two situations (no matter if baby is engaged or not): A) Baby is breech. B) Baby is in an otherwise not-so-optimal position (f.e. occiput posterior) In those cases, the position can provide baby with more room to move in a more favorable position. Moreover, if baby is already engaged - or almost engaged (just not in a good position) - then this position can help dis-engage the baby, so that baby can find a better position before re-engaging again. Therefore, we normally don't do this exercise if baby is head down and in a good position (particularly occiput anterior). BUT: it depends: for example, we have found that - if a baby does not engage for a long time even if baby is in a good position - doing this exercise for a while often seems to facilitate the engagement process. However, this is only a personal observation - we are not sure if other experts have made the same observation... In general though, our approach is normally this: if baby is head down and in a good position but mommy wants to help baby engage, then deep squats alone are (normally) the way to go... Of course, please always ask your doctor's approval first before you do any exercises! All exercises are potentially harmful (it really depends on your pregnancy case). Thank you! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hello I'm 37.4 weeks and baby head has not yet engaged. Although he is in head down position since week 33.3. Today doctor told me that chances of head engagement seems very less since its my first pregnancy and in first time pregnancy head usually get engaged before this time. What do you think about my chances of having natural vaginal delivery?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Ай бұрын
Hi there 😊, we can only say this much: some babies engage very late in a pregnancy. Some do it hours before labor starts, others do it even AFTER labor has started. And in our experience, that is not related to whether or not this is the first pregnancy. The only thing that is important is that the baby engages AT SOME POINT. But this could also be during labor, and not necessarily before the start of labor. We can also assure you that we know several cases of moms whose baby was not engaged when labor has started. And they all had a normal delivery. So, you might wanna consider getting a second opinion by another doctor? We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

41 weeks and 3 days. My provider is talking indication and baby is still at a -3 position, 70% ephaced and only dilated to a 1. I feel like I've tried everything, all the birth Ball exercises, the miles circuit, sex, dates, walking, etc. I've even had 3 membrane sweeps. I had to have a c section with my first and it was incredibly traumatic, i really am hoping for a vbac but my provider talking induction worries me that it's just going to lead to another c section. I don't know what else i can do though.

Hi there 😘, we completely understand what you are going through because we have met A LOT of women in similar situations! There is only one thing that we can recommend in such a situation: try to relax! We know it sounds so stupid. But the only thing we have tried in such cases at the clinic and which has helped induce labor in many (but not all) cases, is help those women relax. We do this with the help of acupuncture and reflexology. But it does not need to be as long as it is something that helps you "let go". If you are overstressed and worried about your situation, your body will most likely prevent the release of labor hormones (watch our Mini Birthing Course to find out why). Relaxation was really what helped those women go into labor eventually. Maybe it will help you too? We wish you ALL THE BEST for the upcoming birth, for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hello, When we had first c-section ,for second baby once labor starts, will they go for a c-section.This one happened in my case😢. We tried for nornal delivery. After giving trips doctor gave one and half hour time for strong labor pains. In between they checked the position of a baby. After one and half hours I have started strong labor pains. They told that still baby is not engaged labor pain too started we should go for c-section and they did it. My question is whether within one and half hour we have to go for c-section when baby's head is not engaged?Will they not wait for few more hours? I have started bleeding one day before I admitted in the hospital. Next day morning only we went to hospital. I did labour induction techniques in ur videos too. In hospital they only burst the aminotic sac saying that because of that baby may start engaging? Is it true?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
Hi there 😘, to be honest with you, it really surprises us to hear these things! We know many cases of women whose baby was not engaged when labor started. It is true that it can take some time for the baby to engage once contractions have started. However, as long as baby is doing well and as long as there are no medical problems, there is normally not a reason to go for a C-section. Of course, we don't know your case and we also don't know if there were any medical complications which made them press for a C-section. However, normally, the fact that baby is not yet engaged is not a reason for a C-section. Plus, they ARE supposed to give your baby the time baby needs to engage. The other thing is: we are also not aware that rupturing your amniotic sac helps the baby engage. Frankly, this is the first time we hear about that. When you think about it, it makes more sense the other way round: as long as there is amniotic fluid, the baby will find it easier to move in the womb... and to engage... So, we find this strange..... But this is just our personal opinion without knowing the details of your case.... 🙁

@@CareAboutLittleOnes Thanks for your response. As we don't know much about this, mostly there are c-sections.For my first baby also midnight aminotic sac was break up and it started bleeding. So we went to hospital. My doctor didn't speak anything to me. She directly spoke to my parents that we induced but there was no labor pain. As far as I know they didn't do any induce. She threatened my parents and my husband that aminotic sac was break up. We can't wait. If we wait child will not be in ur hands. So she asked the question what shall we do? Added I will go for another induce if pain didn't start I cannot do anything. Think about the child. So everyone of my family was frightened and asked what to do? She said for c-section anf was done without informing anything to me. As that was my first pregnancy I don't know anything what was happening around me I was worried.I have a question. Once aminotic sac is break whether we have to go for c section? They didn't examine anything about the position of a baby. But in the report they have given as mobile head emeegency c-section. I had two more weeks for due date. If bleeding starts is it dangerous? Even after bleeding if labor is not started we have to go for c-section?Do we have to go to hospital? immediately. Whenever we go like this they are ending up in the name of emergency c-section.Really it pains a lot😖😭

@CareAboutLittleOnes Жыл бұрын
@@ShreshtaHindi Hi there! Just because the amniotic sac ruptures normally does not mean that you need a C-section. Normally, what happens is that you go into labor within 24-48 hours. If this does not happen, they normally induce you. Bleeding: Unfortunately, this is nothing we can answer in general: it really depends WHY you bleed. Please do note though that at the end of a pregnancy, women have what is called a "bloody show" which basically means bloody discharge. If it is a bloody show, then there is normally not a reason to worry. But of course, if there are other reasons for the bleeding, then it depends on the situation... So, we cannot say in general whether or not you need a C-section when you bleed. It depends on the situation. And we can also not say whether you have to go to the hospital. It's best to talk with your midwife about it first whenever you are not sure if something is "normal" or not. But of course, this only applies if your midwife is knowledgeable and has nothing but your best interest in mind. If you are dealing with people who do anything to press for a C-section just because they make a lot of money with it, then it is just sad... If you have that feeling, do not hesitate to look for another doctor! We hope this helps...

Hi there 😊, a cephalic position means that your baby is head down position. So this should not be a reason to worry! Also, we know many women who had a lateral posterior placenta and still had a vaginal delivery. As long as the placenta is not lying too low (placenta previa), it should (normally) not be a problem. Hi there 😘, in theory, a baby can always go back into a different position after being cephalic. So, this COULD happen, however, we really would not worry too much about it. Even if it did happen, at least, you would now know that nothing prevents your baby from turning. If he has done it twice, he can do it again! In our experience, such babies almost always end up in the right position eventually. Of course, if you want to have clarity about baby's position, please do talk with your midwife about it! Hello I'm 38 weeks and have minor placenta previa and baby is weighing 3.5 kg , and baby hasn't engaged are there chances of vaginal birth?
@CareAboutLittleOnes
@CareAboutLittleOnes 2 ай бұрын
Hi there 😊, based on the information you provide here, a vaginal birth should still be possible IF the placenta previa does not significantly cover the cervix. That is, however, case-dependent. We know cases of women who had C-sections with minor placenta previa. And others who gave birth vaginally. But just so you know: there IS a risk of heavy bleeding involved. Engagement-wise, we can tell you that some babies only engage late in a pregnancy. Some of them even only engage after labor has started... That's okay, as long as they engage at some point... We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

Hi there 😘, please note that a baby does not necessarily engage in the pelvis BEFORE labor starts. If baby does NOT engage DURING labor, then, yes, it's gonna be a problem! And in that case, if you cannot make your baby engage with labor positions and other tricks, then a C-section is often inevitable. However, we have never heard that a trustworthy obstetrician recommends a C-section because baby is not yet engaged before labor starts. You might want to consider getting a second opinion from another doctor... We hope this helps! 😘 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

We left a reply below your other comment! 😊 And by the way: yes, your pubic bone DOES become wider thanks to a hormone called relaxin which kind of loosens your pelvic bones up a little bit to make a delivery easier. Apart from this, your baby's head can change its shape to fit more easily through your pelvis. And that's exactly why we are saying: get a second opinion! 😊

@CareAboutLittleOnes 11 ай бұрын
Hi there 😊, please note that neither a rupture of membranes, nor the lack of pre-labor engagement are reasons for a C-section UNLESS they cause medical problems. Many babies only engage AFTER labor has started. The contractions can help with that! What we recommend you doing, is get a second opinion by another doctor! Make sure it is someone who does not do C-sections for the sake of earning money but only in situations when medical problems make a C-section necessary! We hope this helps! 😊 We wish you ALL THE BEST for you and your baby!! ❤️

The thing is, after back home, I noticed some pink color blood stains when I wiped with tissue .is it normal?? I can call them tomorrow. Dr told me if I have contations in regular intervals, I need to rush to the hospital. Or any discomfort. Or water broke or bleeding like periods/ menses days.

In my birth, I had 18 hours of labor , since the labor pains started they were during and 5-7 minutes apart, my water had not broke and the baby would not engage, the doctor told us my pelvis was narrow and that he really didn’t think the baby was going to engage and my cervix was very thin and was worried that if there water broke there could be umbilical prolapse. So were went for a c-section when the contractions were 3 minutes apart and the baby was not engaged at all, but we still feel unsure about if I could have had continued to labor or if the risk was really that high? ( in no moment the baby’s heartbeat showed any stress)
