I guess this is the start of me adding comments. Don’t usually comment. Thank you! Awesome and helpful video

Thank you for your video! Very good and informative. I have found some reviews talking about a wobble, but I'm not really sure what they mean by it. The only thing I'm afraid of is worse handling in corners. I ride a city electric bike, no high speed or any beak off road terrain, but as I am often unsure cornering I wonder if this would make it even worse. Thank you for your comments in advance.

For what its worth I've owned both of these, I went from a large norco to the merida one twenty 3000, though I had to up size to an XL on the merida due to the shorter reach, the large norco has a 470mm reach, and the XL merida has a 475mm reach, the slightly steeper head angle on the merida combined with the shorter offset fork gives the front end more grip on flatter XC corners, the merida also tends to have a bit more pop off small jumps, the rear suspension is better, it really does feel bottomless, and I've yet to get close to using max travel, where the norco used full travel all the time, and you felt it when you've used full travel too, the merida tends to have a bit more grip while climbing, maybe due to the longer chainstay? And I can say that the merida is better designed too, the norco had a tendency to slightly bend the top shock mount bolt, I went through two of them in about 3 or 4 years, also there's no bearing on the top shock mount, just a bushing, and the seatstay linkage bolts thread directly into the seatstay, which makes it a pain in the ass to assemble after doing bearings as you have to try and align everything while trying to thread the bolts into the seatstays without cross threading them, because you obviously don't want to damage the threads on the seatstays, but the merida on the other hand has a bearing on the top shock mount, and it uses hardware on the pivots in the rear triangle, which makes it much easier and safer because you just have to align everything and push the hardware in, then the bolts thread into the hardware, so if for some reason you damage the threads on the hardware your frame is still fine, you just have to order another piece of hardware.

I've had a pair of the blue Clans since 2019 and they have been awesome. The soles are pretty eaten up now after all the years but the rest of the shoe is still super solid. I also have a pair a Freeride Pros that are only two years old, with a 1/4 of the miles of my Clans, and the sole is separating from the bottom. Most in the USA have not heard of Northwave so they are kind of missed out on. I'll take these over my Five Tens any day. If I could get them resoled I would.

What's happening wirh my MRP when my MRP feels like its locked out? I have to push down a little harder on the hard to get it to "break" the lock out feeling. Like it gets stuck. I weigh 350 Lbs and have my top chamer aired up at 120 psi and bottom chamber at 130 psi. My compression is wide open and Ramp Up is set to the missle setting.

Gonna pretty much ride like a hard tail mine does on the float X with 0.9 spacer at 40% I can't get anymore PSI in the shock to get the 30% so will have to remove it for the 0.7 to get the extra PSI I need

I’m getting some too , leaving tubeless mess … not worrying about a few grams … hilarious that people worry about a few grams “for performance” but won’t lose a pound off of themselves 😂

i have a 20x4.0 rim but can a 20x3.0 innertube fit and work for a 20x4.0 ? Lets say if i don"t have a 20x4.0 innertube can a 20x3.0 be a substitute ? My next question is what if i have 20x4.0 inserts can a 20x3.0 innertube fit inside a 20x4.0 inserts ? if so what will be the psi to fill the tire up ?

Valuable review and exactly the info I've been looking for. I like the characteristics of a high tpi tire such as a Vee, but not their thin sidewalls and susceptibility to punctures. These tires also tend to self-steer themselves at lower pressure due to their extreme pliability. Sounds as if adding tannus inserts would be an ideal compromise for both issues. Armed with your helpful input, I am going to order tannus inserts right now. Thanks again... Douglas;)

Im running dissector front and ardent race rear, great for xc/downcountry. You really have to lean it over for the side knobs to bite, but if you lean it enough there is no shortage of grip. You can feel the transition from center tread to side knobs, i kind of like that feedback. But im still a begginer, just learning how to really corner well.

It's funny that the Aussie dollar isn't valued as much as the GBP, considering all the notes and coins have the same royal inbreds on them. /s

4 years later: I don't get how Diamonback was rated so much higher than Kona. If the Diamondback has less than ideal geometry, that should not allow it to be placed so high as a value, because geo matters as much as parts. BUT, update 2024: Kona has reduced prices...by a lot....across the board, with the original owners being back in charge. Perhaps a do-over of this type of video is in order?

back in my school days we used old fire hydrand hose, tough as nails. rode my bike for around 10km every day for 5 years and never had a single puncture, where i hade a puncture at least once 1-2 months before that. it probably wont give any grip benefits thou and the weight was noticeable
