Can I clean it with WD 40 Release Oil?

Just curious the symptoms you were having on that 1-2 2-3 shift. I’ve got inconsistent shifting between those ratios. 1-2 hangs and kinda pulls as it shifts. Feels like a solenoid, but curious if you were having similar issues. Thanks!!

I have a honda accord 7th gen 2.4L automatic i have problem from shifting 1 to 2 , i think it is this solenoid as it only shifts from 1 to 2 if i only let off the throttle but it shifts perfectly when it shifts to 3 4 5... The solenoid is not available as a used part because this car are very few here... So i have a doubt that will the solenoids of 8th gen 2.4 L accord will work as 8th gen accord used spares are available because the 8th gen accord are more here. Can anyone help me by saying whether the 8th gen accord solenoid will work on 7th gen accord 2.4L Note: 8th gen accord automatic has a sports mode with paddle shifters but not the 7th gen accord also the part numbers of 8th gen and 7th accord Solenoids are different but they appear the same (Sorry for my bad english)

Will i have to drain the transmission fluid before changing this or is it above the reservoir level? is it high enough up that i can remove it without making a mess if i don't drain the fluid?

I'm working on the same thing right now. There's one more very important solenoid. It's on the front drivers side of the transmission on my 05 odyssey. I believe it's the tc lockout solenoid. When you remove it, there's a bowl shaped screen that will likely be full of metal shavings and particulates, clean it and if you ca find one, replace the gasket. It's a rubber direct fit gasket that drops into groves all around the solenoid mating surface. Also, clean all of the old debris and grime off of the Trans mating surface or you chance transmission fluid seepage from one orifice to another, effectively defeati the purpose of cleaning it out at all.

Thanks for this information. I just purchased a Honda CRV that needs a couple things before it’s drivable. I took it for its first drive today, first gear was fine, but when it shifted to second, it fell into what felt like neutral, and eventually made its way into second gear After a complete stop. I drained the transmission fluid, definitely looked like it needed changing, but not horrible. I’ll start by pulling the solenoids and giving them a once over.

If this account is still active whatd it feel like when they were first going out? My 04 CRV will only downshift from 2nd to 1st if i start accelerating again which cause for a jolt and really bothers me. Never slips and feels strong but I (with my limited experience) swear it’s not right.

What about on 2015 Honda pilots? I've got vibration only on acceleration and a little hard shift on certain gears, but the gears changed after the dealer just did an update on it. They think it needs a new transmission, but I'm thinking not. It has been serviced regularly every 30k miles and had this issue when I bought it last year with only 90k miles on it

My Element is a manual, but my 04 Accord 2.4 auto trans is starting to delay, shifting from 1st to 2nd. I suspect your diagnosis is the problem I am having. Would this fix apply to the Accord automatic transmission too? BTW, my brother-in-law just bought an 05 Element auto w/313K miles. It’s runs quiet and shifts perfectly.

I have a 1983 Honda Accord (barn find) with 45,000 original miles. I changed the valve cover gasket recently, and when I finished, I found that I had (1) high rpm idle and (2) high rpm shifting. The car is a 4-speed automatic. I repaired a cracked vacuum line to the carburetor that fixed the high idle, but I still have a high rpm shifting. The fluid level is fine, and the fluid is red. Do you know if this 1.8-liter engine has a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the transmission? And does it have a modulator valve? Any added info about what could be causing this will be appreciated. Thanks

I put a couple of socks over the filter and taped around the neck. I can floor the throttle now...:) no bog.

I have a zummer 50cc TaoTao and I put a hypro carb on it and it came with that cone air filter I ripped the stock one off bad boy I was because I have to buy another one now am I able to tell if I need a new clutch it runs good but when I stopped at the light and go to take off well it takes about 10 seconds before it catches and takes off

Thank you for sharing this video. My 07 Honda pilot just developed this issue, it shifts a little hard from 1st to 2nd but only happens when the engine and transmission are cold. After 20 minutes of driving it goes away.
