I'm a shiny hunter, someone who spends time looking for rare colored Pokemon across the various mainline titles. I've gotten shinies with odds being at 1/8192, so I looked at the odds for this hunt and thought, "oh lmao I'll get this in a few days tops". I'm over odds by like, 2 times now and 2 months into this hunt, I started doubting the axolotl could be bred and had to watch this guide to reassure myself. I did learn though, I had no clue you couldn't find them in the wild. I assumed it would be rarer, obviously, but not impossible. Pretty cool! And all the comments here are giving me motivation to keep going. Thanks for the guide! Might put some more of your vids on as background noise because the audio is very nice. Thanks for the excellent video. I just gave this a go with my son. We didn’t have quite the polished design, built a little pen at a reef and set up our base in a desert temple. The most time consuming part was building a sky bridge from home to the reef😅 complete with mine cart track. We started with two gold axolotls so it would be easy to spot a blue one if it popped up. We bred those and kept on breeding until the pen was pretty full maybe 80 in there, when it got hectic we culled all the adults (worst part) and only kept the last 6 babies that hadn’t grown up yet. Once those grew up we bred those and after one cycle got the blue Axolotl 😊Amazing. A few issues we came across was building our pen from wood and culling with an axe we ended up with a hole and some escapees that we had to hunt down as they were destroying the tropical fish and another issue we only built our fence one block higher than the water and some axolotls pushed each other into the fence and suffocated but other than that it was pretty straight forward. Only took us a couple of hours to obtain what we thought was going to be unobtainable 😊

Blue axolotls actually do exist in nature. They're a rare pigment mutation of the regular brown kind.
