I love how sensible you are, after learning that some RV/rest areas require certain types of toilet systems prior to entry I thought it was absolutely necessary, but since I want to start stealth (in a Sienna just like you) I now know I don’t have to overthink it yet lol! Merci!

Hello @Eric, I watched your video and could see that on the inverter you did the right decision: You chose one with a pure sinus output. Unfortunately you did not mention this fact. People who are new to this topic will often buy a cheap inverter without pure sinus, which can damage some devices.

That's a great und cheap shower, thank you for showing. I like these modern high pop-up-tents. They're not much more expensive than your shower-cabinet, but they're build up very fast, and there's no need to take the shower directly beneeth your car, and you can use it for your toilett, too. And with the zipper-door there's no risk of opening by the wind. The only real downside is the package: One more peace of kit in the car with about 60cm (but relatively flat).

I don't like public restrooms and I don't like to be dependent on them. And doing business outside with a showel is very weather-depending, and you have to (sometimes fast) find a spot where you will not afterwards find yourself on any social media showing you doing business - everyone has a camera on his phone today. So I'm a fan of pee-bottles (which I clean out with water as often as I can) combined with a "bucket"-toilett for the bigger business. In the "bucket"-toilett I put a garbage-bag with A) some saw dust or B) some cat litter. After use the garbage bag goes into a standard public garbage can - that's the same way you would handle baby diapers. Easy garbage bag disposal, no dealing with disgusting liquids or searching for special disposal points. If you can't find a public garbage can immediately or if you're remote for some days, that's also no problem in my experiance: If you manage to put no (or only minimal drops of) pee in the bucket-toilett, and if you put some more saw dust/cat litter over your "business", you can close the lid and don't have disturbing smell. The moment you open the lid for the next use: yes, that's the moment you smell something, but that's ok, your gonna make your area smell anyway a minute later (that's why you opened the lid). The only downside is the space it takes, yes, I see that argument. But @Eric did you ever test your "emergency-foldable-sink-toilett"? I imagine two problems with it: 1.) You can't sit on it, there's nothing that supports you. 2.) If you try to use it while squat over it: Depending on how you feel and what you've eaten: There's not only the "easy sausage", but maybe - especially in a quick emergency situation - more of a "spray" (sorry if that's too much pictures in your head now). I don't think that your foldable sink is a "save" way for doing business.

Thank you for sharing your technics! The collapsible bucket is to squat, not for sitting. That’s the same way to go in the outdoors in a hole. ✌️
@Ist_Geheim
@Ist_Geheim 19 сағат бұрын
@@ericenjoysearth2756 Thanks for your answer. Yes, I did understand that. The difference is: If you squat over a hole and then "spray" that's not such a big deal as having parts of that "spray" in your van. That's why I don't really like the idea. Ugly topic :-( but necessary ...

Enjoying all the detailed contributions. I've been born and lived my entire 72 years in a 3rd world country. I want to add to the nice details, a common one that all dominicans would use if you don't have enough water and or pressure in the solar tank: a container of some 3-4 gallons and a jar. Hi and thanks again Eric! I have another "level" question, this time about the kitchen cabinet: As I look closely at your video I believe you chose to build your kitchen counter top at a slope to match the top of the side door plastics (bottom of the window), rather than build the counter level. I have such a crazy slope in the van. The side door window, and my ply floor are sloped at about 4.5% with an unloaded van (so maybe 3.5% for a loaded van). So if I were to construct the counter matching the window, and then park the van on level ground for sleeping with the bed being level (0%), this would put the kitchen counter and table extension at 3.5%. Is this indeed what you have and is it no issue? Im considering constructing the counter top level, but I am thinking it might look odd relative to the window..

After watching your video, I have a question might sound dumb but I glued or double sided tape the fabric on one side and also add coroplast on other side for rigidity then I will not be able to see the reflective side? What am I missing? Thank you for your time and guidance

We bought a 2016 Sienna and I am right now mocking up the interior with painter's tape. Hi Eric! Thanks so much for your videos, you are a gem. That’s a way to go. But it comes with more storage space, immobilization required to heat water, a shower tent is more expensive and more trouble to dry, water planing required (less autonomy). Less trouble is more fun. It needs a little effort to build the shower, but there’s some rewards ✌️

Hi Eric, I am from Germany and I love your build! However, it was not love on the first sight. As you know, there are hundreds of fancy looking builds out there. But you convinced me. Because you are right: I don't want to get out of my camper in bad cold weather, just because I don't have access from the inside. And I probably do not want to cook outside every day, especially not the first coffee. Not to mention that I always wanted a stealth camper which hopefully never sees a camp-site. Here in Germany, it is allowed to sleep a night in the car, but not more. I am not talking about several nights, but I am talking about camping: if you sit outside and cook and drink a beer and then go for sleep into the camper, this is not allowed. So, it is important to be to be stealth. Especially when I am let's say on a festival in an urban area. However, I recently bought a Nissan NV200 Evalia, which I want to convert into a stealth camper. At first, I wanted to keep the second seat-row, but I did not expect the height of 50 cm. If I add another 10 cm for the matress, there is not enough space to really sleep comfortable, as you cannot get up easily. So, yesterday, I finally decided that the second seat-row must go. If I really need it, I can still install it. Most of the time, I don't need to transport more than 2 persons, including myself. It is much more likely, that I will need space to transport something. So, I will make a build very similar to yours. I will adopt the bed, the cabinet and also the kitchen part. Not sure about the measurements, yet, but I will think about this evening and next week. And I still struggle where to put the power station (until now I don't have any, but of course I want one) and the fridge. Maybe you have a good idea or experience? I am going to find a power station which has all sockets on one side, to have access even if installed into the cabinet or somewhere. The fridge can maybe find a space under the bed or in the kitchen cabinet. I do not really need a fridge, at least not for cool drinks, but it would be convenient to keep vegetables or butter and milk in it. My problem is that everything would be on the driver side if put in the cabinet, but I want the heavy things on the other side. To not have most of the weight on the driver's side. And well, I think you should have a website :) As I read in the comments, some would like to publish their adapted builds, too. I think it would be cool to see your build in several different cars and maybe adaptions. Best, if also measurements would be included. But hey, what you maybe can do, is a video where you can present nice adaptions of your build, which have been sent to you. What do you think?
@ericenjoysearth2756
@ericenjoysearth2756 15 күн бұрын
It is a good suggestion that I will consider. For the weight distribution, it is important. So where you install the fridge, batteries, solar shower tank, a roof box (if needed) can balance for where are the cabinets and the water for the faucet. There is also the removed weight of the seats that will help a lot. Enjoy your project! 😃✌️
