Thank you for this detailed tutorial on the electronic system. I’m going to follow your lead. I’m disappointed to hear from my Honda dealership that the price of installing a roof rack will be $1000. Because that is what i wanted to do for both the solar panel attachment and a way to anchor the shower tube as you have. And, I already have the Thule box from a previous SUV, and I believe I’ll add it for extra storage of off-season clothing eventually. But before I do that, and before I build the bed and cabinet, I’m trying to buy all the components I want so I can build the cabinets to their specifications. I’ve got everything now except the kitchen sink and faucet. So I’m shopping for those, and have some questions for you or others with experience. What functions am I looking for in the faucet? I know the pump needs to be 12v, and it needs to have a way to modulate flow. But is a regular kitchen faucet possible to use, or would those be incompatible with the 12v pump and drain to the grey water reservoir? Perhaps you’ve already created a video about the kitchen sink, and if so, please say so and I’ll look for that video by title. Any tips you can give me about brands or where to order these plumbing fixtures would be welcome. Amazon’s selections don’t seem to fit what i’d like. My home’s kitchen faucet has a pull down sprayer letting me fill my PUR reservoir without shifting it from where it sits on the countertop. If I used it i could maybe devise a way to use it as a shower-head, too. Has anyone tried that with success or failure? You are a great resource, Eric, as are the others who comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you!🙏

Hello Lora! I used a regular kitchen faucet and a bar sink. Don't use a plastic sink because of bacteria. This is why they are only for restroom, and not for food (supposed to be). Having a deep one is useful. For the faucet, watch this video to learn why I changed from a restroom one to a kitchen one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGOkkn5-es6Ub9ksi=iWwjoJualHAcGON5 I have a 1 gallon per minute 12 volt pump, and it is perfect to me. ✌️

Hi, I just found this channel, and the conversion is amazing and want to do something like this if I can. I was wondering what type of roof crossbars / racks you have installed because they can fit alot of thing on the top. I haven't seen roof racks extend so far out on the sides before when looking on amazon. Sorry for my ignorance I'm new to this. All the best

Those roof rack bars are the longest ones of Thule. Welcome to my channel and don't hesitate to ask questions. It's a pleasure to answer them👍✌️

Thank you, Eric! Greetings from Minnesota, U.S.! This was incredibly helpful! I tow a Safari Condo Alto 1743 lightweight trailer with our 2017 Sienna FWD minivan (8-speed). I use engine braking in hilly terrain and wanted to review the technique to ensure I'm doing it correctly. Quick question: How low are you comfortable shifting gears, and for how long (miles/km or minutes)? For example, when towing our 2100 lb Alto, I found I needed to stay in gear 2 or 3 to maintain speeds under 40 mph (65 km/h) on steep descents in the Smokies. Would you feel comfortable holding gear 2 or 3 for 7-8 miles at a time if RPMs stay below 4500? On our last trip, we had to use both engine braking and regular brakes to keep the van and trailer under 40 mph (65 km/h) on 12% grades for extended stretches. I was concerned not just about wear on the brakes or transmission but also about overheating and losing braking power. We pulled over a few times to cool things down-no smells detected. Even the pull-outs were so steep we needed the emergency brake to stay put. For anyone curious: We weighed the van and trailer at truck scales: at 7600 lbs GVW (gear, people, fuel, camper), staying under the 8400 lb limit. Would love your input!
@ericenjoysearth275621 сағат бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your understanding of the necessity of knowing about engine breaking.👍 I would say to follow the manufacturer's specs on the limit of the rpm. As you know too low is not good and too high is not good also. ✌️

@@ericenjoysearth2756 It's not the easiest place for van life, but there's a lot to see, that's for sure! In my state, it's illegal to sleep in a vehicle outside of a designated camping area 😏And almost all of the beaches are a no-no for overnight stays. Most will attract substantial fines. But, there are a lot of free camps and beautiful national parks and state forests that have affordable camping.

Try it! You will feel it. It’s a tip from years of winter camping. It is quite surprising how much you can feel it. It’s the same as a fireplace in a home. Flame dry the air and the open windows ventilate. Ventilation is essential 👍 In Canada 🇨🇦 it is even recommended to carry some in your car in case of winter accident! ✌️
