When my father died 27 years ago the inheritance tax allowance was not used as everything was passed to his wife my mum. So would the tax allowance for my father from 27 years ago before at the rate that was in use at the time of his death or is it at the new rate of £500,000. As it is now plus the £500,000. For tax exemption as all proceeds will be going to her three children and six Grandchildren

Good explanation with one key confusion. Martin uses the word “you” a lot. But, in this case, the “you” will now be dead. So, key clarification is that the executor / administrator has to do the paying of the tax if required.

Is there a time limit in which you can use both parents IHT & Residence Nil Rate band? I have been told 10 years from the death of the first parent. Would like some clarification please.
@peterholt480617 күн бұрын
Worth mentioning. If you have a pension pot then that is not considered an IHT eligible asset. So, if you have £900,000 in assets, and you have a pension pot of £200,000 then the pension pot does not take you over the £1,000,000 threshold. You will not pay any IHT.

We're in a sticky situation where I live as only EE has strong 5G signal. They practically have a stranglehold on the region, and that makes it difficult to switch. The fact that we only have four carriers in the UK (EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three) is a travesty.

I pay only £10pm (no contract) compared to my old EE £27pm (2 year contract) for the same package, the difference, giffgaff pays me back every six months with real money for my continued loyalty. Effectively paying me for using their services. 👍

My son was paying vodafone £45 a month for a sim only, with unlimited data. He switched to Asda, who use the Vodafone network and is only paying £20 a month. Not only that, his mobile signal is a lot better now, even though he was paying more than double to vodafone.

What can I do I had 55£ in my phone credit and I buy unlimited pay as you go then I go on to top it up on the next month of February says I have got no money in there. I can't speak to three, The call centre won't give me their number head office I can't see why not in the public domain, and they say we need a passwords I said I've never put a password on my SIM they said well we can't do anything till you give us a password, I said I don't remember giving you a password, and whats that got to do with the price of fish, just refusing to go any further and not willing to help! it's a lot of money £55 for me they used to do 90£ for three months that's why I brought 90£ and then it went back to 35£ a month what is way too much. What I don't understand is they advertising like 15£ for unlimited but I can't seem to get that if you phone the automated service there's no option to choose that amount of money. and none of them seem to work I can't get a signal with anybody else don't know how to set it up I tried smarty what I think he's the same company but that doesn't work keep saying going on the internet but i can't without using the phone and I need credit first. How can I get this £55 back I still got the receipt ?
@YoutubeHandlesSuckBallsАй бұрын
I have no contract. I pay £6 per month to GiffGaff for unlimited calls, unlimited texts, and 1GB of data. I put the money I save into my savings account and when I think about changing my phone, I look at the balance and buy a phone. I usually get a much better phone than if I got one through a contract all while not being stuck in a contract... Also, I can change my dataplan whenever I need, just for 1 month if I know I will be using my phone out a lot instead of paying for data I don't need all the time.. Remember, if your current phone does everything you need, then your current phone does everything you need. Some people seem to need to realise that.
