I'd like to have a small bike for exploring off road. I think people have the wrong idea about what an adventure is. My take on adventure is, to do something where you don't know what the outcome will be. If in the process you break you leg that's what you call a misadventure. I'm pushing toward 80 YO. So, I certainly don't need a big heavy bike for going on the goat tracks!! I ride a 09 V Strom 650 but not off road.

Do you recommend this bike (Scrambler 400x) for a trip Perth to Margaret River? (No a frequent trip, one in a while)

Giday, is there a lower seat height for the triumph 400x, I’m only 5.4' short legs long body😂

I would agree they should make a grandpa version of the 500. With like 45-50hp instead of 64hp and stretch out the service intervals with more oil and more longevity in the design. However we should say that the 500 might already be the longest lasting "dirt bike" on the market. People are going tens of thousands of miles on it no rebuild.

Hope you review the 2025 Honda NX 500. My read is that it will perform very close to CFMoto 450 but beat it soundly for world-wide dealerships, mechanic’s familiarity with motor, parts / mods availability & price, & overall reliability for a more road-touring oriented adventure MC. And all of this is worth the higher price out the door. I feel more confident touring from South America to Alaska on the Honda. As for touring east-west / north-south cross your Australia on all sorts of roads, what would be your call ? All the best, & keep the reviews coming.

And keep my eyes open for ktm 390 enduro. The pics of these one make it look so bland and not at all attractive. It’s a motorcycle not a tractor. I care what it looks like. Oh! The X or street version looks so much better. Please release this version and not the version that looks like a base KLX 230.

I was getting my wallet and then you said, “China”. I am 100% out! Makes me question my initial desire to own a 390 RS. Beta! For the love of all that is holy, please don’t cheapen your image for a few bucks.

surprised you didnt mention the kawasaki klx300, by far my favorite dual sport bike. has much better suspension than honda, is not outdated like a drz and for a taller rider just fits much better than other alternatives.

Bajaj and CF Moto aren't going to bail out KTM...they want them to fail. Then they can buy them up for cheap and sell their own repainted, rebadged junk to a huge established wealthy western customer base...It's not going to work, though. I'd buy a Thai Triumph or a Filipino Honda but there's no way in hell I'm buying an Indian or Chinese motorcycle.

I'm curious what you would categorize the BMW G650GS as... it kinda straddle the line between Dual Sport and Adventure Bike. So what side of the line would you put it?
@chroniclesofsolid3 күн бұрын
I think it sits in the same category as a KLR650. That is to say it’s more of an adventure bike but not by much. As you say it straddles the line nicely. But you could probably argue the case either way. But in my book it skews slightly more to the adv side 👍

The part that is keeping me from buying a 300l is the non removable subframe. Am I just just overly concerned about bending the frame?

@elijahbrooks85894 күн бұрын
I’ve kind of kept a stable. A dedicated street bike currently R6, adventure bike currently CRF300Rally, race bike is my least touched YZ85. I’d love to go long enough to need a distance cruiser like Tracer or XSR

I'll buy the CFMoto Ibex 450 before I'd buy the KTM390. KTM quality has been waning over the last decade. Little things here and there. KTM is a failing company combined with reliability issues takes the "Adventure" out of their bikes.

Anyone else feel like the masses are missing the message of the Kawasaki KLE announcement? The tagline was that ‘life is a rally’, and the versys line are actually designated as KLE bikes already. I feel like everyone is getting hyped for a KLE/Versys 450, when it could just as likely be a Versys 650 Rally instead, with new fairings and suspension

Great review except your opinion about cf450 suspension. If you have fully adjustable suspension and you don’t set it up to your weight how you can assume that it is to stiff?

Those were my same thoughts, an updated KLR 650. A machine the will do everything, just not very well. My first test drive could’ve ended within the first two minutes after hitting the pavement. Too much vibration for my liking. I know it’s a thumper, but it felt more intrusive than other thumper’s that I’ve owned like the Adventure 390 or the KLX 300. While centering it from the low kickstand it felt heavy, but once in motion, very agile both on and off the pavement. Engine performance was blah. You really had to roll the throttle to get anything out of it. This bike is for the person that needs a bike to get them from point A to point B. Soaking up the scenery between with a no thrill ride

Sds. ✌🍀 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKmuo4SsnZuej9E kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGPdaqusj5uCfsk

Y’know, Husqvarna actually makes a lightweight dual sport like you mentioned in your video, the FE350S and FE500S. They both weigh approximately 100 pounds less than the Enduro R, but at about $7,700 more. They do have, as far as I’m aware, better suspension, Brembo brakes, and I’m sure some other stuff, but I’m sure a lot of that cost goes into those big weight savings. But, I guess that comes with the fact that they were trying to make a proper enduro-capable dual sport, while I believe that KTM, Euro motorcycle licenses or not, was more concerned with making an affordable bike. Though come to think of it, it’s surprising that Husqvarna has such a bike before KTM, even though KTM is sort of the flagship brand of the Eurobike trio that includes those two and Gas Gas. Even more peculiar that they share the big brother to those Husky bikes, that being the 701 Enduro for Husky and the 690 Enduro for KTM. Doesn’t really matter, just different colors basically, though it is interesting.
