Hi Baba, my sister just sent me your channel. Thank you so much for your videos. I wish I had paid more attention to how to make all these traditional recipes when my mum was able to teach me. Alas that time has passed but your recipes and techniques give me the tools I need. Thank you so much, you are amazing!❤ I have a Baba again.😊

Thank you for sharing your lovely memory of your Baba, bog da ja prosti. My family eats it with only rice as a posno recipe, but I know others do it with meat; that is the great thing about our culture… it is so rich with all these variations of recipes. Love, Baba ❤️

You say you broiled the pork the night before in the video. Would this recipe be the same if we started with the pork raw? And then maybe for another video, but I grew up with a similar version with chicken. Would it be the same just replacing the pork with the chicken? Thank you for your wonderful videos!
@AfternoonsWithBaba

Dear Jammin, I boiled the meat first because I like to discard the first water that’s used to boil and then refill the pot with water to continue boiling and use that water to use in the final cooking tray that goes in the oven. Although you can, I recommend not to cook the pork raw because it be tougher to eat and less tender; you can also fallow this recipe with chicken as well boiling that too. Thank you for your comment, merry Christmas and happy new year love, Baba 🎄

You can also call it Banitsa like they do in Pirinska Makedonia. No problem especially since Serbs also use that word but pronounce it differently. Another awesome traditional recipe done the old way! More work but it makes an absolutely delicious Pita!

Hi (Поздрав!), thank you for the recipe but I have a question which I am hoping someone can answer. I know that in different parts of Macedonia they might use the same word for different things, i.e. there are different dialects. My Dad was from the Prespa/Resen region and what they call Pitulici were large and thick pancakes. I think he told me that my grandmother used a device called Pitularnik which was a large flat heated surface for making them. What is in this video we would call Mekici or Tiganici. Can someone confirm? Благодарам во напред!
@AfternoonsWithBaba
@AfternoonsWithBaba 6 ай бұрын
Hello, Thank you for your comment. I am aware of that method of making the Pitulici like this but where i am from, we make the Pitulici using oil to fry the dough more similar to doughnuts. It likely depends on the region you are from but this is how we make the Pitulici. Love, Baba 💕💕

How long do you cook the rice with meat
@AfternoonsWithBaba
@AfternoonsWithBaba 7 ай бұрын
Dear Jarakj, I’m happy to see you found my Sarma recipe, mine is a vegan recipe with just the cabbage, sauerkraut, and rice. If you’d like to add meat it is still the same cooking time, as if you were to cook it only with rice. You should cook for 1 hour at 425, make sure you cover the sarma with 3/4 of water. Thank you, Baba 🌸

Hello thank you for watching my video for the Easter bread. I have used both fresh yeast from the bakeries and the dry yeast which comes in the packets (fast rising yeast). Both turn out well. As far as the flour is concerned, I use 50% robinhood flour (all purposes) and 50% Five Roses flour all purpose (White Flour). All the best for Easter to you and your family Love, Baba 🐣🌸💐💐💐🌺
