Monique, I will share something that I have grown to start to really believe it. Please don't take offense in the language I use. "If you aren't fucking me or paying my bills, I don't give a fuck about what you think". The first time you miss death is really hard on people. It does get easier.

Hi Monique. I just watched your current video of your BF working on your new vehicle. Fixing the rust. I decided to catch up on some old videos. I'm so glad you came back and are making content again. And rest assured, you are easy to understand. Please don't worry about that.

Easy way to find your problem.Get a Test light and connect test light the line with fuse. Unplug devices plugged in you see the test light turn off. That is your problem Amperage draw.

Guess I just got lucky, I wired my charge controller directly to the car battery 20 amp Max output. Works like a charm on my 06 Town and country

So unplug the Jackery from the car when charging the Jackery. After charging the jackery with solar panels, unplug the solar panels from the Jackery and plug Jackery into car. Is Thais correct?!

I believe you had a failure on your jackery the 12-volt input has a one-way diode protection circuit and this would not allow a feedback voltage to go back out through the 12 volt input if there was power fed back through the 12-volt vehicle connection that is a failure in the jackery and I would look into filing a warranty claim with them

12volt solar panels can output over 20 volts at what ever they are amped at.

It’s not a design flaw. The problem is that you, in a round about way, connected the solar panels directly to the car’s electrical system. The solar panels are capable of putting out much higher voltage than the 12~16 volts a car is designed to operate on. You need to use a voltage regulator with solar panels if you want to connect them directly to a car’s electrical system.

Hi , New subscriber here. I just wanted to say you handled the interaction in the Hot Springs with the random stranger properly. This is a message for the men . Men ! It's NOT OK to approach single women in public places such as this , it's inappropriate and creepy ! You make people uncomfortable and disrupt/ruin their experience. I'm sorry this happened to you. But as a full-time nomad off-grid guy I can say always trust your instincts out here. If something doesn't feel right just leave . Women shouldn't feel uneasy about going somewhere alone . That's not my opinion, that's a fact ! I enjoy your videos my friend. Enjoy your journey and remember Faith over Fear always ... Safe travels

I did a simlilar thing in a much smaller scale. I have the jackery 100 plus with their 40W solar panel Their connector is a USB C cable. Since USB C is supposed to auto adjust voltage, I tried to solar charge a USB C PD battery. I killed that in about 2 seconds. They have a very bad philosophy with their cables and assumptions.

just a basic idea here. if you blow a fuse with the power off, key off position, break out your meter and find out what is going through that fuse. they blow for a reason. i did have a too many amps fail that melted the wire under my dash , and into my hand melted copper hurts , that could have started a fire in the car. get the manual and check the circuit diagram to see what all is on that fuse. work back and check each part till you find your problem. a good meter saves lives and money.

That is absolutely a design flaw with the Jackery. It should have a diode that isolates the inputs and prevents backflow to the other port.

Yeah not a fan of just about every function on cars these days are tied to a computer screen. Dangerous because it's like looking at your phone while driving and also if there is something with the computer or screen, then nothing works that is tied to it.

With today's computer dependent cars, you have to be really aware of frying things. This is a good heads up with so many people having these battery stations. Glad you were able to fix things. Jumping cars is far more dangerous than it used to be, too. Those little jumper battery packs are safer. Basically if either car has a short in a jumping manuever, you can blow up computers. It is safest to charge the "dead" car battery with that car turned off and wait until the battery is charged enough to start the car especially if you don't have a jumper pack: those have some protections built in . . .at least probably most do. I use a solar panel w/charge controller during day light to charge up starter battery, but connected directly to the battery and ground and only when the car is off. AC plug in for bad weather.

You are too dumb to use equipment. Jackory is not at fault and they tell you if you use the panels with it plugged into a electrical source the Jackory will draw off the electrical source first and the panels second. All cars I have seen with 12 volts plugs in the cargo hold areas are live not switched to turn on. All you had to do is read the owners manual.

A word of ⚠️ CAUTION ⚠️ regarding those Box-o'- Fuses on Amazon , ali express , etc. I've already seen 2or3 videos of guys BENCH TESTING them with POOR - to - Dangerous results. One guy actually ran 30A thru a 10A fuse for half an Hour without it blowing !! He determined that ALL of the "fuses" in that KIT were 🚩simply 14-16ga. solid wire 🚩! So order only ONE kit @ a time & TEST them before placing an additional order . ( better yet : replace as many as you can with BREAKERS )

Yeah, nah, that absolutely IS a design fault with the Jackery, solar inputs should be isolated from the car 12V input. Even if they have it written in the user manual or a label on the unit it’s a shit design

Always consider, that when two types of power sources exist, that together they could cause a situation of possible over current. Most electrical devices have a limited safe functioning voltage range. Everyone makes mistakes, and by sharing the findings of your experience, you save people in a precious way, from repeating the same loss Which you already have experienced . Thank you for sharing,in your humble manner.
