I am totally opposed to painting wood, Stripping paint takes more patience than I have. Very nice job, especially the stripping of paint in very difficult places

Oops! Poor guy. I appreciate that he's still concerned and wants the right person to love it. I appreciate old furniture. I bet it was a hard decision after that many years.

Your work is second to none. Absolutely beautiful. Question : How do you know what colour of stain to use ? Is it a time period thing or just preference. ? Will you marry me. 😊. Seriously. Nice work. Well done.

Interesting, I’ve never used Watco, but I’ve become very unhappy with CitriStrip, thanks so much for this comparison.

I would always prep the wood before any paint work started that way no matter which paint do you use it it’s gonna come out the best way if you sand use an electric sander really lightly Oh thanks I am a imperfections wife wood putty for 20 minute drywall mud i’ve seen people do it online and it come out looking good just because the furniture is older and you can departure all the imperfections be gone and when you paint it will come out looking really good you always have to prep

I used CitriStrip on the mahogany woodwork and doors painted with 7 layers in my 1921 built house. I applied a thick layer of stripper, strips of newspaper, more stripper, covered it in plastic wrap and left it for 24 hours or longer. Most of the paint came off with the newspaper. Everyone seems to be in hurry to remove the stripper. Paint it on, scrap it off. I did a lot less work my waiting longer and letting the stripper do the work.

Really nice! What a LOT of hard work too. Well done. QUICK QUESTION? Wouldn't using a car sponge to apply the polyurethane cause bubbles? I know when I use a sponge brush to apply poly it does that. Thanks in advance!

I found a natural product,, QCS. This has no dangerous chemicals or odors and can be used indoors. They have 2 step process. The cleaning solution has particals of sand which is absolutely amazing. It will lighten whatever paint is there and gives the actual stripper a jump start. The company is family owned and in USA. I used it in an attached garage, during winter and with family members that any whiff of perfume would cause asthma flair ups. Didn't have any issues of note. Absolutely hate citrastrip! Found it takes forever and can leave orange tint. Just fyi

Wow! ! ! That was singly the most educational, informative and (to me) the most important video that I have seen on KZbin. I retired in September, however I started preparing for the next stage of my life a year earlier. I have watched hundreds of hours of videos. I have purchased furniture from Maine to New Jersey...continudsddd . I have inventoried the tools I own and what needed to be supplemented. Thank you, as I never knew what I didn't know 🤨 until now. Again, thanks, Kate Anderson

Citristrip ruined my family antique dining table top. It discolored it, I only used it once on that table after I recognized it was damaging. I have since used up the rest of the bottle some other less valuable pieces. I will never buy it again. I have since used kwik strip, Green EZ and Jasco. They seem to work the same. I wish we could purchase the stripper, Cica 1850 that I see Canadians using which has an ingredient that is no longer allowed in the us. It seems to do a much better job than any of the strippers I can find in california.
