Robbed a bank dressed in drag and sat on a corner two blocks away counting the money while some friends watched no? Believe you had a young son just prior to jail who was raised by his mom and friends. Lets just talk about your "accomplishments" in a small time local band though sorry

It took ages for Matthew Fisher to get credit as a co-writer of "Whiter Shade of Pale," so she's right that Brian's contributions to "Ruby Tuesday, "The Last Time," and "Under My Thumb" are undeniable.

This is a very negative interview, about Brian Jones.. Shocking. Brian Jones did not commit suicide. He was murdered and that evidence is there, that it was covered by the police, because of an inside cover up by someone there through his relations with the police. This woman knows all of this, that she is saying he drank and drugged himself to death is shocking.
@fatimacontes15923 ай бұрын
I saw her in the Garcia documentary where she talks about Brian's murder with conviction. I'm very surprised she didn't use this occasion to bring that up and reaffirm it. Seems contradictory.
@lachanteuse1ROXANNEFONTANA3 ай бұрын
@@fatimacontes1592 Yes no mention of the not-so-funny-little-thing-that-happened-on-the-way to straightening his life out. Which he was... He wouldn't even let Alexis Korner roll a joint in his house in the last weeks... he drank, his last vice, wine only, a major victory; and he had an irresponsible dr., who perscribed him valium which is bad for the liver, another thing they're blaming him for at the beginning of this interview...no friends, no family, no kids .. poor sod....Hopefully he is in peace in Heaven, as he was reading the bible daily in his last days before that brute killed him.

With respect to everyone, this interview was not about Brian’s death. Barbara spoke about plenty of other things.
@lachanteuse1ROXANNEFONTANA3 ай бұрын
@@mikaylabeyer6013 There's so much talk of his demise, its a recurring subject here, and it being due to alcohol and drugs... all of those musicians did alcohol and drugs... they had a chance to recover didn't they? To suggest Brian didn't and to not say, WHY he didn't, insinuates a falsehood, which is fine for establishment just-say-no medias, but is just unfair to Brian Jones' legacy under the guise you are celebrating it. You're not, you're destroying it making him seem pathetic and a loser, who is so regretful, my God, what utter bs.

One of my favorit bass player. He is humble too. At the Lords he was the only one who played the melody. In a band with only one guitar the bass player needs to be very good. Brian was playing around Dave's leading melodys. Brian brang in the taste around it. But the melody the peoplexwhere dancing to comes from dave. Deep respect from Germany to Dave. I miss the Lords so badly. I had the same haircut and I played the bass in a trash rock band. I joyned the concert in Kempten when Brian was too high to play. That was a bad concert. No money back.

Been listening to hole since I was 7. Was into Nirvana back in 1990/91 when I was in foster care and older foster sisters had their albums in the back bedroom. I saw “Hole” live in 2010 and after however it was with that disastrous fake lineup with Micko Larkin which we know is not real Hole. It’s Courtney’s birthday today. Justice for Kurt. I think she dated sickie wife beater

Very interesting interview. I found it interesting that he is a bit aloof in his dismissal of other genres and other bands. I particularly loved his comments about Guns and Roses - a band that was grossly overrated. His comment that, “I couldn’t pick them out of a lineup,” was spot on. Why listen to garbage music they put out when you are actively a member of a group of real and talented musicians. I first saw The Blasters in 1982 when they opened for the Go-Gos at Berkley. And, my gosh, I was immediately taken by their music. On that night, for me, they eclipsed the Go-Gos in every way. I was, in an instant, a lifelong fan. The standout song for me that night was “I’m Shakin” - their cover of that song is off the charts - they OWNED that song. In that concert they had a piano player - Gene Taylor - and a horn section. I’ll remember that night forever. I was in the USN so crossing paths with them over the years has been difficult, but I did get to see them at The Boathouse in Norfolk, VA and years later at the Belly-Up Tavern in Solano Beach in CA. They are one of my favorite bands of my lifetime - in my circle they rub elbows with ELO, Oingo Boingo, City Boy, early Aerosmith, Alan Parsons Project, Queen, and Supertramp, to name just a few. I also loved his reflection about Sun Records because I have thought the exact same thing about being there…the place is surreal. Great interview, John. To the moderator, thank you for choosing John to interview.
