Raw and real. You had good tires on that bike for what you are doing, Shinko 244s or similar...you still went over. That sucks. Glad your ankles are ok.

Hi what road is that iron grid bridge on have typed in what you said on the video and it only show the main Burdekin bridge.
@aussiebackroadadventures99276 ай бұрын
Hi David. The bridge in that video is much further upstream from the main bridge on the Charters Towers road. It's near the end of the Mt Fox to Greenvale road before you get to the bitumen.

Nice endurance test. How’d the two bikes perform on the trip? I’m tossing up which of the two bikes to get. Leaning towards the versys as the high reving twin seems like a hoot. While still being light weight, large tank and amazing on fuel. Priced better too.

The bikes went really well. Plenty of bulldust and corrugations to test them out. Both came out in good shape even after a couple of slow drops each. We have since ridden them both to Tasmania and back. Great trip but the Versys is a tad underpowered on the long long outback highway stretches.

Nice video. Do have any special setups on the 300 and what sort of fuel range are you getting?
@aussiebackroadadventures99276 ай бұрын
Hi Tom. Sorry for the tardy reply. Everything was standard on the Versys. If you have watched any recent uploads, you will have seen that I sold that bike and am now very happy with a CFM 800MT Explore.

Yawwn! I recommend touring in New Zealand. We have curves and no red clay roads.

Nice vid. What's the bike like on gravel ?
@aussiebackroadadventures9927 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Bryan. It's amazing on gravel because of its light weight, it revs hard and I've got Motoz Adventure Tractionator on. The ride to Cape York in June tested it on all sorts of road and track surfaces. The Versys X300 is what I would call fun.

How many kilometres was that lake road Steve?
@aussiebackroadadventures9927 Жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply. It's about 13 kilometres each way and a sweet ride at the moment. It can get full of big potholes during the Wet Season. Good little hike about halfway along and lots of hikes and camping/swimming at the end.
