I have only just found jacks music after 27 years of playing and following the usual hero’s …… and I love it. I’m learning a lot of new licks, techniques and I just love the complex backing, key changes, and following the chord tones with his lead, just magical composition.

Great review, it seems most likely the NU-X is actually copying the original dumble amp look, as is the Vertex pedal. I really like the sound of the NU-X, but wonder how it might sound on bass. Is this a mid boosted kind of pedal? I can see the headstock shape of your star like a lot like an SX guitar.

As one who lives in SE Asia I can tell you the biggest misconception people have about Chinese products is that they are inferior to US products. Not so at all. Americans should tour a Chinese factory. Far from the stereotype of children forced into labor to make Nikes, you will see amazingly clean, organized, efficient and highly technological and automated facilities. The NUX facility is amazing and would put US companies to shame. They have such a huge supply chain advantage that they can produce the exact same product at a much lower cost without sacrificing quality. Chinese manufacturing gets a bad rap in the west but you’d be surprised just how much of your expensive American handmade pedal are comprised of mostly if not all Chinese parts. And in many years instances the Chinese pedals are made with higher quality components that American manufacturers simply can’t access.

What’s all the fuss about these 2 pedals, they are both trying to copy the real Dumble? As many others.

Those irresponsible or say ignorant guitar makers should have solved this noise issue a long time ago. They should improve their product irregardless if it is expensive or cheap. Have mercy on your customers...

Not bad for what it is. But the drum machine is the biggest fault. Not only does it reset to pattern 1 on powerup (why not a simple metronome?) it also resets the tempo to 120 bpm. I use a small metro to set it with and get within 1-2 bmp but having to set it everytime is a pain. I set it on clean and use my Mooer GE-150 into it.

I would like to use it as a main setup, even for gigs, and live concerts. Would it be suitable for that? Can you send sound from it, to bigger speakers, other than headphones, like using it at rehearsals, or even to send its sound to PA systems ? or should I buy something like, the mighty space for that because it would be better since it has a "speaker out" output ?

The interesting thing is that many of these clones have better components than those used in expensive pedals. It’s all about availability and the Chinese producers just get and make stuff far cheaper. You are also paying for hype and marketing. I just bought a Joyo Double Thruster for under $60. It sounds identical to the Dark Glass version at $300! Components simply cost them more and they invest more into marketing which adds to the cost. Circuits are circuits. They are easily duplicated exactly. It comes down to things like durability. But just as it’s hard to find a bad car anymore it’s hard to find a bad pedal from a build and circuit standpoint. These things aren’t rocket science.

There is a trick adding an additional singlecoil in between your switch and input of your volume pot. You have to remove the coils so I would use a fairly inexpensive one for the mod.

Keep in mind that fact that most f the people misunderstand about shiedling; this is not intended to eliminae the natural hum from ingle coil pickups, the purpose of shielding is only to minimize the 60 cycle hum or EMI (electromagnetc interference) inducted by the environment surrounding you; that's why much people claim that shielding doesn't work. Single coils hum is completely different from EMI.

My primary concern is the charging time. Other videos have said that it takes over two hours to fully charge. My Xvive has never taken more than 40 minutes to charge after 5 hours use. Is the 2 hour spec what you are seeing?

I just recieved the NUX Plexi Crunch and this pedal is also on my hit list. For the money this is a no brainer. I can use the pedal as a third channel on my old Mesa Dual Rec Tremoverb. I can also use both pedals into my JC120 and have three great tones for clean, crunch and lead. Good Job NU>X!
