Ladies......no need to watch any of the others Terminator films after the sequel, they are all disappointments and don't live up to the first two.

I went into this movie cold as a kid. I didn't see any trailers, I didn't know what it was going to be about, I only knew what happened in the first film, so the reveal that Arnold was the good guy hit me hard....I was like OHHHHHH SHHHHHHHH. lmao

I was 10 years old when this movie came out. I believe Macaulay was 11 when this was shot. I still remember the entire theater was ROARING with laughter when Marv got electrocuted. lmao After this movie.... I was constantly prank calling my friends with the Talk Boy I got for Christmas.

I think Terrance Howard's first movie was "THE JACKSON 5: THE AMERICAN DREAM" TV movie. When I was a kid, that's the first time I saw him then he appeared on an episode of New York Undercover and then in the movie Sunset Park, then this movie.

People think the economy is bad now, the 1970s were terrible. Inflation caused by the war had interest rates near 20% and there was an oil shortage that made gas prices skyrocket. Vietnam vets at the end of the war came back home to massive lay-offs needed to fight inflation, ESPECIALLY IN NEW YORK CITY. The 70s was also when deindustrialization happened and a lot of people and businesses left the city and moved to the suburbs or overseas, which also hurt NYC.

It’s funny to think that Bruce Willis went from essentially rom coms to doing this, which worked in his favor, because he had a lot more personality than most stoic action heroes called for at the time, and definitely wasn’t afraid to show his vulnerable side, and that he was kind of freaked out, like most people would be in that situation :)
@chrisgrove78292 күн бұрын
Thanks for reacting to this. I know some things in this film are considered problematic today, but when this came out in 1984 it was viewed as the nerds being the underdog taking on the man, and the man in this movie were the jocks and the Pies. And even though some consider it inappropriate, we definitely were rooting for them taking on the privileged class:)

18:18 this was the same rage pain & frustration I felt when I got shot at 3 years ago that hood rage that so many people that are trapped in the hood feel because everything getting in your way like you'll never be free its what turns people into guys like Doughboy or women like Doughboy & Ricky's mom where you stop caring and get complacent

I quote that movie at least once per week for almost 20 years. I'm going to throw Can't Hardly Wait in the mix. No relation these movies; it's just another guilty pleasure movie I've seen 30 times.
