@jijimathew2443 Not sure what you mean by rods but you might mean the level it needs to be in the oven. I'd recommend the lower level of the oven. Hope that helps? Xx

Hi, Fortunately recently your channel popped out on KZbin. The problem is that, sometimes it’s difficult to get Muscovado Sugar. So possibility to use some other sugar instead of Muscovado. Also instead of 6 inch cake tin I can use 8 inch? Please I’ll be very grateful if you could advise me at your earliest convenience. @safiaahmed3111 I do have a Christmas cake recipe on my channel for both 6inch and 8 inch Christmas cake. Use the 8 inch cake recipe for your cake tin. You cand substitute Muscovado with a dark brown sugar. Hope that helps xxx Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 xx

Hi l have made my fruit cake two weeks ago, l haven’t eat yet just feeding the cake so far. Your recipe was very easy to follow. Will let you know how it turned out. Just wanted to know should l keep the cake in the refrigerator every time l feed it. Since l am watching your channel from Sydney Australia so it’s summer here and it’s getting hotter. @안알랴줌-d2e Hi, adding too much alcohol to your dried fruit prior to baking will not make your cake taste of alcohol. Instead, it will have a brandy flavour, as the alcohol evaporates during the baking process. If you want a booziness to your cake, you need to feed the cake. Hope that helps? Xx

I've always soaked my fruit first, yes you may lose the alcohol but the flavour will still be there. Think of making a sauce with wine, the alcohol will be gone but you can still taste the wine.Never had a dry cake yet but still feed my cake after baking.

@marikoone Hi, thanks for your question. It's really important to ensure your cake is wrapped well. I use greaseproof paper and then foil. Then store it in a tin with a secure lid. Place it away from direct heat and store in a relatively cool place. Hope that helps? Xx

@@pm5095 Hi, feed it fortnightly in November, then once a week up until you decorate. You don't need to wait for drying time to decorate, using my method. But do turn the cake over on the flat clean side and use it as the top of your cake. Hope that helps xx

I just found my Grandmas recipe in my late fathers cook book, does not show how to cook just ingrediants i am so going to make this i loved it has a child Dad made me one every year, ingrediants look differant to all the videos i am watching like it says use self raising flour and castor sugar? i would have thought brown sugar, it also has ground almonds on the list? i am asuming that is for the marzipan. Also says caramel to darken but i remember there was always a tin of black treacle in the cuboard

The ground almonds will be for the cake too. I made mine yesterday and it was my granny’s recipe. Use the recipe you dad has but use this video to prompt which stages. The flour plain and almond and spice are mixed and set aside then slowly added to the butter and sugar alternating the egg and milk and flour bit at a time. Then add fruit at end. Hope this helps
