This car looks and is a bit too sporty... so if you dont drive sporty its a waste of money... everyone who buys that car should keep on eye that you should get ready to invest money into new tires, breaks, and other parts, since its a car you dont drive it as daily but as a sporty car. So it will be needed quickly to replace things...

Huge fan of this car 🔥 but surprised you didn't mention all the things that makes the Polestar Engineered version unique. Forged alloys, upgraded Akebono brakes, aluminium strut bar under the hood and manual adjustable Öhlins dampers. This separates it from regular XC60's. In addition to the Swedish Gold seatbelts and brake calipers. All unique for the Polestar Engineered XC60

I have SQ5 Comp, 2017, 340 horsepower. 112000 km on the odometer. I liked it at first, but now I am seriously considering to sell it. I just do not like it anymore. It feels so outdated inside, and although interior is quality, it just doesn’t feel special. Ride is very weak for the price.. although it has double mirrors, it doesn’t help with the noise at all, especially on 120+ km\h. Aaaand… it’s not super reliable. It is all right in terms of reliable, but not amazing. And a few weeks ago I did 4000 USD worth of repairs, 2500 USD was the leak in the engine. Why so costly? Because I had to dismantle gearbox and the engine to replace 40 USD part. So yeah… it costs for purchase and maintenance as a luxury vehicle, when it’s not. It’s just not. Audi A6 feels more special than this. If I don’t sell it, I will tune it to 400 HPS, maybe that will add it some charisma and some sarisfaftion for me.. we will see

Solution: invest £5 in a 5 litre bottle of screen wash then it won’t freeze up. I usually drive until something really needs fixing (rare) or some item fails and MOT (more common), then decide if I can fix it myself. If not get an independent garage to quote. I don’t drive a Cayman but am looking at the idea, but the cost issue you describe is more to do with throwing yourself at the mercy of a main dealer when out of warranty than the car itself. You’re going to get ripped off royally by any dealer on any car. Even on big standard cars I’ve seen some horrendous examples (like Toyota self-charging their own warranty provider over £1,100 for an O2 sensor when I fixed the next one myself for under £100 and half an hours work).

@@LifeInMotionuk so you’re literally saying, just do something! Which is what I need to do, I’ve been stuck in this process for so long of trying to analyse how to get started, would you be able to recommend anything for someone like me who wants to start? Equipment wise, content wise etc. I base myself on people like mat watson and auto-trader, basically I love the reviews and helping people when buying their cars. By the way, thank you so much again for replying to my comment means so much more to me than you think. Wondering if you would ever come back to making videos again ?

Gonna pick mine up this weekend probably, 2015 MTA Competizione. Stage 1 Tuning with 170hp, Akrapovic exhaust systeem. And the bumpers have been facelifted. It has low milage. The MTA is interesting to say the least. But shifting with the paddles will probably make it better, I just need a little practise.

The base 2.0L sounds a bit better imho.. A bit louder and a bit more raw than the 2.5L.. Dunno why though, maybe it's the different turbo and/or just simply the difference in displacement? All these 4-cilinder 718's really do need the PSE though for sure..

I have them on my 718 Cayman GT4 and they are the best all around performance tires on the market today(mins the Cup 2R for track days). Now the new PSS5 is out and when I'm due come next summer I'll give them a try, Ive heard they're a step up from the PS4s.

I am on the fence if I want to buy a older 6 cylinder 3+ liter boxer Cayman or stretch to buy the much more new 718 Cayman 2 liter or 2,5 liter with 4 cylinder and turbo. I must say I think I actually prefer the sound of the 4 cylinder boxer and it is much more powerful at the low end making it feel faster. But it is 10.000 to 30.000 $€£ more in cost to buy the much more new 718 model .
@LifeInMotionuk3 ай бұрын
On the day to day, the 4-cylinder was superb! If you can make it work, I’d say it’s worth the buy
