Some cars really suit an EV conversion - some don't. This is the former...

Why don't they build it new like this? Perhaps a little more crash resistance ... It's so much more elegant than all the fat cars you see on the road nowadays.

Imagine if Citroën redesigned the car's structure to modern standards with 3 EV drive train options: single motor with FWD or RWD, whichever handles beter, as the econo model, 4wd dual motor for a sports option, and a 4wd with in-wheel motors for a grand tourer while keeping the original exterior and interior with as few tasteful changes as possible. The car's performance would finally equal its looks. Dream car.

How does a conversion like this affect the balance and handling? I'd presume with a change in weight distribution there's an impact or do you factor that in to your builds? Do you also have to modify the suspension?

Citroën should make this car (again) as a hybrid or a pure ev. This design was ahead of its time when it was released (and still is), the only comparison I can think of would be the revolutionary NSU RO 80 a decade later. Also a bold concept in a body from the future.

My favourite car and it looks as good today as 1955, it shows you how advanced this car was and in electric guise perfect for the future again.

Like so many people I have always loved the look of the Citroen DS but have been frightened to take the plunge and actually buy one, the nearest I got was buying a GSA, the morning after I bought it I was convinced that I’d done the wrong thing, then I took it for a long drive and I was hooked, what an amazing ride so smooth on any road surface, and those brakes, I nearly put my wife through the windscreen the first time I put the brakes on 😂🤣 I now have a Tesla model 3 which I love but I’d swap it for an electric DS, PLEASE show us more videos if you convert any more Citroen cars, I’ve subscribed so an looking forward to seeing more 👍🏻😁

I always wished someone would slip a flat 6 engine in a DS... The engine it was always meant to have... It would have been quicker and quieter than my 1972 DS21 EFI 5 speed Pallas.
