Richard. You need some ground straps on the engine to the dyno. There is serious arcing between the exhaust collector and the engine. Maybe static electricity?

the power rating is obviously going to drop do to no fan is attached to the pump that has a power draw. prefer fan clutches over fixed or flex fans . others like electric fans. prefer mechanical for reliability.

Same...going back to mechanical with an electric as a fail safe/backup for real hot days Cant stand the constant rise/fall temps with the electric..they suck in my opinion at least most aftermarkets OEM different story

2:57 Whats the idle sound like? I'm buying this solely based off the idle sound. The point of the cam like the thumpr is its slow idle. If you don't show its slow idle the video is pointless. We can get better cams with more power not worrying about idle. This ones different. okay it made said amount of power. How's it idle? Hows it idle? Hows its idle sound?
@gordocarbo

Why buy a cam based off an internet vid? These are similar in theory to the thumpr 2 brands owned by the same investment group far as I know. Old Harold B would be turning in his grave lol

NEVER buy a cam based off of how the idle sounds, dude that makes NO sense at all. Any perf cam is gonna sound good so get the proper one for your car so its not a pooch.

Those Holley heads suck and it has low compression. Piston probably .030 in the hole with a .040 thick head gasket, dished pistons. Plus it's the smallest version of that cam. The big one is way better.

my question is did the original moonshiners cars have that lumpy idle ? were lumpy idle cams even available to the them back then or did they re grind their own ? or were they all standard cams and big carbs and straight exhausts ???

It would have done way better with AFR 195cc comp cut heads, must have been some holley systemax II heads or something. May need more compression also, probably 10.5:1 would be good depending on the cam specifications

I have a question....is it ok to use crappy, push-in stud, 1973 302 rocker arms for .500 lift, or smaller, cams, will they have enough slot, or do I increase the slot to accommodate them?
@jjmccloud
@jjmccloud 3 жыл бұрын
I don't recommend. 500 with push in studs myself but it is possible its just kinda riding that thin line. Its risky and could go either way at that lift, but people do it all the time if u can at least pin them at the very least you'd be way better off
