Thank you very much, you provided very useful information, your lessons are very valuable and necessary lessons, I had a recommendation! How about a tutorial on setting up and adjusting the camera in Unreal Engine?

The mega scan textures are currently not working with mega scan textures, everything is completely flat, even with nanite enabled, works with the provided textures but that’s it. For some reason, with quixel materials, I’m only getting an ORM which isn’t working
@WilliamFaucher6 сағат бұрын
There is a new FAB folder in the EasyMapper folder with the new master material that is set up for ORM and the new textures! It is flat because there is no displacement map in the ORM packing. You need to manually download that. I talk about it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2Ocm5yghZt0gaMsi=o3exOutNFpYcS_Fo

Thank you William for your good will to share your knowledge in concise tutorials! For those still struggling with disappearing foliage shadows: r.RayTracing.Culling 0 Also, when foliage disappears at distance: set Opacity Mask to something like 0.01 in foliage texture asset Cheers

Hey William, First and foremost, that render looks absolutely stunning! I'm curious to learn more about the specifics of your workflow in Gaea. Could you share details about the nodes you're using? your export settings and whether you're incorporating custom textures within Gaea before exporting? Best Regards.. Patrik

I have always had the doubt, is there a mm of lens that is better for creating scans or can it be done with any mm?
@WilliamFaucherКүн бұрын
It really depends but anything between 24mm and 50mm is very reliable. Longer focal lengths CAN be helpful in very specific scenarios, but you need a lot more photos as a result. 24-50 is what I have always used.

Can you make us a light bouncing within clouds from the far away to the side sun but make it shine down thru the clouds as if the sun was closer? I am asking in the name of science because allot of people don't understand how light bounces within clunds and shines outwards in the openings of them, believe it or not a lot of people actually think the sun is closer lol so please do that if you please, in the name of science.

I'm aware that this NVIDIA sponsored and you need to show certain things off or lean a certain way (like not mentioning AMD)... I just want to note that developing on a laptop should always be secondary... if it is really really really needed for traveling often. It is the biggest pain in my opinion to be developing on a single screen that isn't at least an Ultra-wide. I've been working on my RTX 2070 laptop for 5 years but I am fed up, even tho I can use secondary monitors, they just hurt my eyes/head going from a 17" laptop to a 27" or 34" monitor back and forth. Increasing mental fatigue drastically while working on projects and it greatly will slow you down overall. In my opinion (if you mess with 3d software like Blender as well or AI) youre going to want an NVIDIA 12gb GPU or better. If you strictly use Unreal Engine and don't do too much with Blender or any CUDA software then I would use AMD for extra VRAM per dollar. I mean the 24gb 7900xtx is only $800 on average and performs better than a 16gb 4080 Super even for gaming. But it does perform at about half the speed in Blender... so make the best choice. For a CPU I recommend the 9900x for its price, efficiency, and extreme single thread performance needed for game development and real time rendering. Overall, you had good takes on everything like more total storage/ram over speed. Nothing slows you down more than not being able to do something at all. If I can't use a boat to make it to land then I'd rather swim than sink and drown.

I was directed to this from Google trying to find a solution to UE5.5 crashing as i'm working inside my material graph. I noticed it happens when enabling Nanite and Tessellation. Then suddenly if i move too quickly in the graph, it just decides to freeze and crash. Then i get this RHI error: build\++UE5\Sync\Engine\Source\Runtime\RHI\Public\RHIResources.h] [Line: 154] . I noticed it stops if I turn off DX12 and switch to DX11. But then i would lose Nanite Tessellation i'm pretty sure. Have you any experience with this issue? I can't seem to find much on it online.

I'm experiencing the same issue with Easy mapper as @360space_pro. The EasyMapper plugin only gives the 'Create Project' option, but it doesn’t generate a full project-just two folders. Dragging it into an existing project results in missing textures and broken material instances. Any fix for this? This is for UE5.4 thank you

I doubt youll check this but in the off chance that you do, What is going on with Reality Scan?? It does not give the me the option to download the file as a .fbx file. I have not been able to search or find info on this anywhere. I scanned a small object, and then processed it. It only allows me to download the orignial format, which seems to be a .obj file. I insert into Unreal and it has no size, I cant scale it up. It does however have textures but no body

New Unreal Engine fellah here. EasyMapper looks solid, I'd like to pick it up but I noticed its for cinematic usage. I am mostly looking at game design plugins, but will likely get into a bit of cinematic stuff (film guy here as well). I know EasyMapper can work in games, but is it pretty resource heavy and could cause slowdown for games which is why its recommended for cinematic scenes? Thanks for your reply!

Guys help! For some reason EasyRain doesn't show up in my level. Or rather it doeshn't work entirely like it should I think. I do have mesh distance fields enabled, and meshes generate them - I've checked in -show-visualise-mesh distance fields- mode. There is a large mesh in my scene- it is a one piece large hilly terrain mesh. Once I move the easy rain blueprint in the scene outside of vertical or horizontal outlines of this mesh it starts to work normally. I can even see splashes on this mesh upper"limit" plane so to speak, it's Z max bounding box plane, although the real terrain is like200m below those splashes appearing. Interestingly enough when I type a negative value to "shelter limit" parameter the rain appears, but no splashes on any other mesh. I ticked off the "affect distance field lighting" box for this terrain mesh hoping that it will help, I do not need it to be affected with rain really. but it doesn't help. What might be the reason? I also have EasySnow - and it works just fine. regardless of this mesh in the scene or it generating distance field - all is fine. @WilliamFaucher any ideas? I'd really appreciate a helping hand here! Anyone else experienced such issues?

Hi there! Facing a few issues using Easy Mapper. I am trying to make a sandy desert so applied the easymap master to landscape and applied the sandy ground megascan textures to master... 1) I am trying to vertex paint the landscape but its not allowing me to hit the tab in the modeling mode under attribs (plugin tools are enabled). You mentioned for any of this to work you need to enable nanite. However when I look for solutions on google everyone is saying you can't vertex paint when nanite is enabled. What am i doing wrong? 1) When adjusting offsets, Z Top is the only thing affected so it keeps coming out tiled no matter which setting its at. Is there a better way to adjust when its landscape? 2) The sand in your last video appeared so natural looking and am unsure why my applied megascan texture doesn't look as authentic. Is this where vertex painting comes into play if its just one material i want to use? Please, any and all help I would greatly appreciate 🙏 Thank you.

Is it possible to rotate the projection of the textures on each individual axis? I have a texture that´s currently horizontal and it would be great to be able to make it vertical without the need of rotating it on Photoshop...
