Look for paintings by Kittelsen. Lots of medieval scenes with black death and skeletons by the road. He is also noted for paintings of trolls.

Can you add a "world" origin/rotation target object? This would allow movement and rotating to keep the same mapping.

Hello, I use unreal 5.3 and 5.4 The reflectors are very noisy and the lights flicker a lot Especially in the interior views, this issue can be seen much more I did many ways including: r.Lumen.Reflections.RoughnessFadeLength 1 r.Lumen.Reflections.SmoothBias Is there a way to fix the problem or should I install another version of Unreal?

Do you have any advise on how to create your own ARD textures to use within EasyMapper for free? I looked into baking within Blender but am not getting the desired result. Currently importing .sbsar (substance) materials which do not have the ARD baked textures.

You can do it in PS or substance. But you dont need ARD anymore , theres a checkbox ☺️

@@WilliamFaucher so how do you get the vector displacement to work? I am getting wonky results where there are spikes pultruding from the surface. I wish to be able to use the blend slider. Well if the jpg is attached to base color, that jpg IS the base color. If you need to change it, you can multiply a constant on top of it

For anyone who ran into the same issue I did where you cannot add certain textures, its likely because the texture has Texture>'Virtual Streaming' ticked. Wasted a good 20 minutes figuring that one out.

You can just convert your textures to non VT if you need to. Just gotta use the correct master material.

The 5.4 docs now finally give some recommendations for magnitude and center, I wanted to go close-up with the tesselation but it had very noticeable artifacts, after the 5.4 release I reset the magnitude and center in the Master (magnitude was at 30) and used the variables instead and it works much better! You might need to update that

Hi, @wiliam this is great, but i seem to have hit a problem almost instantly, When i bring in a different mesh and add the same material to it, it explodes when turning the nanite on WITH the easy mapper material. It also look slike camera culling has happened on it.. but only on that individual item. Turning two sides doesnt fix it.I'm in Unreal5.3, in your level on the project .

Hi, the video is great, but for some reason the volumetric clouds I have are grainy. Is there any config settings I need to change to make it look "higher res" ?
@valhimself2699
@valhimself2699 6 күн бұрын
The thing with Film Grain is that, however great it might look on a still photo or on your display as you're tweaking it, in my experience once you export the final video, the compression basically smears all the fine grain together into a mess, or just makes it disappears completely. h264 in particular doesn't seem to do a great job with fine noise or scenes with tiny moving details (fine rain or mist for example). Have you experienced this issue before? what do you usually do to work around this issue?
@WilliamFaucher
@WilliamFaucher 6 күн бұрын
Really it depends on which codec you use, H265 is pretty good. KZbin is always going to compress the crap out of your videos so there's no real way around it, apart from cranking filmgrain WAY up to the point where it might be a bit much. BUt that said, filmgrain does naturally blur out your renders in a good way. It softens the image in a way that I find very appealing. So even if the grain itself is gone from the compression, I still very much like the result.

Amazing tutorial as ever from William, but HEADS UP. Epic removed the OCIO module from that location in 5.3. Literally no idea where they put it but this seems to be a pattern with Epic now. Sad as this looks like a solid workflow, but as with a lot of things since 5.2, Epic seem to have decided to remove it. EDIT: They've hidden it behind a plugin you have to enable, and it's now gimped....not as functional as the one in this tutorial. It's getting real old and tiring to have this second guessing and additional stress on every single project.
