Go with a NA 6.4 hemi, 11:1 compression, long tube with 3" exhaust. Have the exhaust sound like a modern OEM challenger. I have a 76 and 72 Darts . 😂😂

just came from the last video on this car, man why do tweakers have to ruin everything they touch? I could feel the anger you were experiencing when you went to get your car back. I also sold my high school/first vehicle and I've always deeply regretted it. Mine was a 1964 chevy c10 short bed, 350 4 speed posi dual glasspacks, it was an awesome high school truck and it was the truck I grew up in with my dad driving. sold it in 2008 after high school because I couldn't afford to put gas in it anymore. I've looked for it for ages and never saw it for sale. unfortunately or maybe fortunately I never kept contact with the guy I sold it to.
@BryceCold8 күн бұрын
Yeah man it took a lot for me not to scream and yell at that guy for damaging the car the way he did. There was no rhyme or reason for doing any of the things that he did to that car especially the things that happened to it while it was just sitting. I am very thankful that I was able to get the car back and yeah I couldn't believe I was able to get my high school car back. I bought that car in 2006, graduated in 2008 and sold it to them in 2014.

@BryceCold9 күн бұрын
I wish but no. I'm actually skipping Power Tour this year and focusing more on the car builds, especially Kermit. I should be going to Power Tour 2026

Small world, you were with a group at Mt. Rushmore this past summer on the way back from Hot Rod Power Tour. One of the guys took a photo for my wife and I! Had a feeling you guys were driving the Mopars parked in the ramp, then I saw you in a Junkyard Digs video, thought that was cool...then in a Craig909 video a couple weeks ago...glad I found your channel, awesome builds, even cooler in person!

Awesome that you got your high school car back! Even though it’s dirty, neglected, and somewhat “modified” by the PO, it still has good bones and I can’t wait to see it running the streets again! It really is clean - we north-easterners don’t see 55 year old car like that over in these parts. Can’t wait to see if it’ll run again!
@BryceCold13 күн бұрын
Hey thanks man I really appreciate that! Yeah even though the car is super beat up and neglected and really rough, it does have good bones which is really nice.

Haha I do! Or I was thinking to collect the whole set for 1970. I've already got two out of the five and obviously the 71 Challenger.

I'd do a V-8 transplant asap. California, huh? Where at? I'm up North about 100 miles from Sacramento. Except for the millions of annoying commercials, great video.
@BryceCold14 күн бұрын
Thanks man I appreciate it! I can't control the commercials unfortunately, otherwise I would limit them. But yes, a V8 of sorts is in the works. I'm up in Auburn 👍🏻

The dart isnt in terrible shape I hope you respect that you got your high school car back a do it justice i think thats cool wish i could get mine back
@BryceCold14 күн бұрын
As far as rust goes, It's not in bad shape. The rest of the car is rough. I am definitely happy I got the car back, and I will do it justice but it's a little frustrating when 10 years ago the car was complete and everything worked and now it's so beat up and everything is missing it's a little hard to not be upset at It's current state. But yes, the overall point is that I got it back, and it will be fixed properly.

I had a 71 Valiant in High school and while looking for a Duster I came across a deal on a 71 Dart Swinger project I couldn't resist 🤷♂️

My grandfather had a 72 Dart! It’s funny because he gave it to us when he got a new car in the late eighties/early nineties when I was little and I never really thought about it as a cool car. Now I wish we’d kept it, but the doors would fly open while it was locked if you leaned on them just a little bit. His had a black vinyl soft top and was bright blue. I’m sorry that other guy took such shitty care of your car. It was really satisfying as a viewer to see it get cleaned out, but it must have sucked to find what you found in something that was so important to you. Dick move on the part of that other dude. Looking forward to seeing it get brought back to life. 🥹
@BryceCold15 күн бұрын
Oh wow that's awesome. It would have been really cool to have that car in your family still! Also, thank you. Yeah, it does suck that he treated the car so poorly, especially when we were on the phone talking about buying it back, he always referred to it as "Your car" and never his. Which pissed me off even more because he probably never considered it his and still trashed it anyway because he didn't care. Well I have it back now so that's all that matters 👍🏻

Love this old ride because it’s literally identical to moms dark green Plymouth valiant except it was a 340 car, we went on so many long road trips over the 25 years it was in family and then went to my brother lol, I really enjoyed this video as it brought back so many memories from the 80”s which was a fabulous era 😂

That damn glass pipe probably also explains no oil in the pan and the rod knocking. I was gonna say Moe called in sick and Curly was in charge, but even Curly would have had sense enough not to suck that glass pipe. it destroys everything it touches. Consider yourself lucky that the car still even exists at all.

One thing that irks me about the hobby is, if I sell a car I care about, chances are good, some idiot is gonna ruin it. It could be worse but the guy you sold it too, really did some dipshit moves.
