These furnished home tours will be a deeper dive into the lives of people living in the homes. Malika is a former stock broker and current real estate agent. Let me know what you think of her beautiful 5,500 sqft Brooklyn Townhouse! Edit: For those you who can't play spades, here's a YT tutorial to help you out 😂😂😂: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZOvh6mtpc2oeLs

Beautiful space, great pricing. Her style is so eclectic, which works with all that sq footage. Good first episode, Nyasia; my only suggestion would be to keep the final closer to 15min rather than 20min. (Plus that'd help cut down on the popup ads, hopefully...)
@NyasiaC
@NyasiaC 3 жыл бұрын
StarinthewingsNews I like the 15 minute mark as well, but not if it sacrifices the story. I cut out showing 2 other bedrooms, 2 other bathrooms, and 2 outdoor spaces to get it to 20 mins 😉
@StarinthewingsNews
@StarinthewingsNews 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, her space was kinda larger than life, which i understand pushed the length. Being that your goal is a mix of the property, plus the owner/their style, i think it's ok if you end up not showing "less interesting" rooms. But again, i get it...this one was a whole lotta house.

That vase of cotton was a gift from a good friend and client that also happens to be a doooopppppeeee designer (Niya at Ishka Designs) ...I saw it in. His home and loved it and he gave it to me as a welcome gift ...and it just felt right going there and a form of grounding and acknowledgment from whence we came And the hard work that it took before I was born. I am because they were. Oh, something Niya told me when I first closed and before breaking ground...he said: take an air mattress and sleep in every room and get a feel for the house and energy while you wait for permits to begin work. You will have a better idea of what you want to do once you’ve lived in it... and sure enough that one bathroom on top floor that I did not change was a direct result of that 30 day exercise. I decided that going right next door wasn’t so bad and I didn’t have to make it an en-suite. Check Niya out at www.ishkadesigns.com You can follow me on @askmalika and @houseofoyo

I love this home I always wanted to live in a NYC brownstone but reality isn’t going to let that happen lol. I really want to thank Malika(?) I always was adverse to cotton (it hit home because my parents picked cotton until 1959) for decor but her explanation made a lot of sense never looked at it that way!!
@NyasiaC

Wow, until 1959. I can completely understand your aversion...but I do think her explanation was great!

Absolutely! Look it right in the eye... and still we MFin RISE!! And sis never say never. Happen to help you map a plan. Begin with the end in mind and work towards it... perhaps it’s you and a friend. You know the last couple of homes I sold I saw at least 1-2 groups (2 couples, 2 friends) out looking to buy the home together and splitting it. Not impossible when standing in your vision! @@askmalika5212 I LOVE that you replied without being offended. So many ppl nowadays go into a “don’t worry about what it cost” spill when these types of questions are asked. Like, I get it but if you open your home up like this and are inspiring other women/men like you to aspire having something like this, I think it’s fair & realistic to share that it ain’t cheap or easy but it is obtainable. Your response was very graceful!💎

I LOVE her energy and personality 👌🏻👌🏻 Her home is beautiful too 🤗🤗 I love that she tried to keep so much of the history still intact and yet integrated her own flair in every room...this is the definition of personal STYLE. This is not a home that is simply a regurgitation of trends; it’s so refreshing to see this. The best part though is still her energy and lovely demeanor. Bravo to this woman 🤗🤗
