dot 5 works with the brake system it is not compatible with the fluid you would need to flush and clean the system completely if you were to add DOT 5 originally they claimed that it could be mixed but later realized it couldn't, how do i know this I've had DOT 5 in my 67 Camaro which has a 2011 brake system in it for 14 years prior to that I Had in it a 1988 Corvette system in it which I also ran DOT 5 Silicone DOT 5 Silicone is awesome if you don't drive your car in the winter or it sits for long intervals as it does not absorb water Dot 5 has a higher boiling point but it gives you a slightly softer pedal which is noticeable spongy is an overstatement however the tradeoff is that my brake system looks brand new as the day I put it in as no moisture is attracted to it all these systems have used a DOT 3 rated master cylinder with no ill effects. it also does not damage paint as the other fluids do this has been my experience.

If I live in a warm and wet city and own an ordinary car. DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 should have no major differences, right? 🤔

I don’t understand how you knocked the damage bearing bolt toward the inside past the bearing. Isn’t there a shaft sitting in the bearing? It looked like you reached into an open space to retrieve the bolt.
@charleskowalczyk4045Ай бұрын
The 3" PVC cap I bought was too tall to be able to use. The bolts would not reach the threaded holes. For reference the one I bought was manufactured by Charlotte and was approx. 2.5 inches to the top of the dome

outstanding stuff .. so you had to make two tools to lock both sides... because they are directional is there a left and right side tool ? I noticed you bent the tool to create the offset, did you have to make one bent the other way for the other side ?

I tried all options. Ordered aux cable to plug into back of unit. Cheap China garbage. I have the cd changer and ended up starting there. Unplugging the unit and using the rca connectors. You will need 2 female to female rca's then male rca to headphone jack. I then plugged in a bluetooth receiver and set radio to aux. You can omit the bluetooth and rerun it to interior but I just left the bluetooth mounted by cd changer. Not sure why no one has went with this option took me awhile to get it right at first I left main cd changer plug connected and just let the changer play the cd tricking the radio to stay in cdc mode so I could utilize the rca inputs but once the radio is programed to aux you can disconnect the changer and aux function kicks in.

Thanks! My Cayenne has been having the same symptoms and I've brought it to multiple places and we've yet to resolve this issue (fluctuating temperature + no A/C). Just wanted to say thanks for posting, this gives us a lot of information to work with!

The coolant is Glysantin G40. Porsche doesn’t make it. You can use Pentosin, or Zerex, or VW G13. They all meet the spec. The color is violet. As long as it’s G40 spec.

On my 1999 Boxste, I removed belt to install new water pump. On reinstallation of the belt, I noticed the AC pulley could rotate freely. Is this normal? Car has 40k miles.

There are several coolants like Peak and Zerex that actually say they are Porsche compatible. That’s proof enough.

How did you get to the center bolt out of the right side transmission mount? I’ve been told there are special tools to get it out but haven’t found an explanation. Great Video’s and I appreciate your input!

The rest of this video is bla bla, one of the worst mods is a uprated clutch pressure plate. Then to gear fast means your kicking the hell out of the crank thrust/crank walk.
@ChristopherIreland-q1s4 ай бұрын
Bla bla. All a flywheel is energy stored in a spining mass. Its how engine rpm drops to fast for road use or slow gear changes.

Should flush the system with coolant, not plain water. The coolant is the lubricant for the water pump. Imagine running your engine without oil.... Any idea what the torque setting is for that drain plug?

Thanks, very enjoyable and down to earth likable. I’ve been an aviation mechanic for over 35+ years and I don’t think that it could’ve been presented in a better manner. Although you’re first video did start out a little dorky, you definitely met the challenge, and came out above in the end. Keep up the good work. PS. If your main seal goes out within the next 6 months or so, you wont be so eager to pay the price. Hopefully you changed it, but just didn’t include it in the video, if not don’t tell anybody lol.

Long time ago I was considering light flywheel for reason that about to spin out, off the gas and able to regain control because less inertia the engine immediately slows down. Now I don't care as car is just transportation.
