Staking in Australia just isnt worth the hassle considering the ATO tax you for the value of the rewards at the exact time you receive the rewards. So if you are receiving staked rewards daily or weekly etc, you have to keep records for what that staking reward was worth at the exact time you recieved them. The problem is if you dont sell it straight away, as soon as you get it to lock in your profit with obviously your marginal tax rate you will owe (staking rewards are taxed the same as income)....then you run the risk of holding onto rewards that end up being worth less than the tax you owe on them, if your token craahes in value. Its ok if its a small amount...but say you get 10k wirth of rewards, you dont cash out, then the cryoto tanks, yiur rewards are worth 1k at tax time. But you still owe tax on 10k wirth of rewards, which is probably gking to be about 3-4k in tax, but you are only left with 1k of value in your cryoto rewards. Ontop of that your crypto can get hacked in some staking wallets. Staking is basically another risky play thats not worth it.

This market dip is a very gentle reminder that markets don’t always go up. Dont forget to sell when the euphoria and greed is staring at you.
