Such an insightful interview! Formalising land ownership through the National Land Titling Program is a game-changer for Zambia’s real estate sector. Kudos to Mr. Tembo for addressing challenges like community verification and statutory fees. This will inspire trust and investment, especially from the diaspora. Great work!

It IS a game changer and I also appreciated his honesty about the challenges. As Zambians we need to realise the importance of title and prioritise paying the statutory fees. Property ownership is the cornerstone of wealth creation. Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much Natasha and Mr Tembo for this crucial important generational land title deeds initiative. Was so happy to hear from families in places like Chawama ,John Howard,Chainda etc ,have title deeds. This is happening indeed and thank you for impowering some of the vulnerable local people for acting in their best interests. This will also build the nation by generating some land rate fees. Every little helps for maintenance of the areas. This is emotional and humbling indeed for the people.

Yes it is, I was really touched by that old man who never thought he would see title deeds for the home he'd been occupying for decades. We underestimate how important these things are. The consequences are far reaching

This is so interesting. Where are the titling program's offices located, i have a documentation problem that needs urgent help before we lose our family home? We were told to pay a K10,000.00 not the K1,000.00 you have mentioned.

It’s a shame that if you’re non-Zambian with a regular 9-5 you can’t buy land but I understand why. I like Zambia but I don’t meet the criteria as stated in the above video.

I'm an Afro-descendant from New York City, I visited Zambia in 2018 and fell in love with the country. My Zambian friend told me of a piece of land on the Copper Belt, that her friend is selling at a good price, but it sounds so complicated with the shares and whatnot. Has anything changed since this video was published?

Zambia is a nation formed by colonial borders. What about indigenous peoples whose descendants live abroad because of the slave trade? To this extent, Afro-descendants, constituting the majority of the diaspora, are completely ignored and therefore pushed aside. This is deplorable!

Nothing luxurious by any means, but respectable and modest, ideal as an investment property. Although it's not the most efficient use of space in my opinion, urban planning Lusaka is terribe the location is so random for such a development

Just a suggestion... After doing an interview, how about doing a quick tour of said or discussed "grey or completed house" just to get the sense and work put into the property? A picture can add a thousand more words😊 In instances where an interview cannot put in words what can be shown... Sometimes, for a newbie like me, just seeing where a certain switch was put or how certain lights where done can go a long way🙏

Thanks for the suggestion. We did that in this video and endeavour to do that in all our property videos. However we have to be aware that some properties are privately owned and we need permission from the owners

This outfit have a good business model but what irritates me is when he says that the role of supervisor on their sites is exclusively for Chinese meaning that the position of a Foreman which is given to a foreigner at the expense of unemployed locals. If the foreman is Chinese will there be any vacanies for graduates from CBU at senior level? I dont think so and no Chinese will listen to him/her. What qualifications do these supervisors hold and from where? Yes there can be bad apples in the construction industry lead to poor workmanship but as company there are ways to overcome this, and that's through training development and innovation. As country we should take such matters seriously...in China no foreigner can even get a job as a cleaner on site. Anyway I blame our law makers and construction bodies.

I love the sustainable construction practices, water recycling and up cycling ideas. As a Zambian architect in training, I firmly believe that these ideas should be the building blocks of our local communities. Our indigenous vernacular architecture is packed with loads of these ideas; I'm extremely excited to watch Zambians finally taking center stage in changing the way we build. Love to see it!
