Would've been funnier without the full cringe dialogue. Taash comes out as non-binary and everyone around her just keeps eating.

Everyone and everything attached to bioware turned into selfrighteous jerks. There's nothing left but to ignore the company, its products and its people. Gaider is on a mission to destroy his goodwill and his career, then please have at it.

Every Taash compilation I see just makes the character look even worse than the last one. I can't believe she isn't a parody.

The smallest minority is the individual. If you want to make everyone feel seen, you're gonna run in a looooot of "everyone", all different in some way. Perhaps games focusing on a few individual character could be made fleshed out to be their own selves, rather than a performative, stereotyped representation of someone that character isn't, ultimately making them parodic or worse, unlikeable.

11:28 dragon age is literally one of the most 'progressive' fantasy universes of all time, pretty much all of your party characters in Inquisition are LGBT, not to mention female, and oh yea, the rightful leader of Orlais is a lesbian woman, 💀 and oh yea, the Chantry is specifically lead by women due to the tale of Andraste being betrayed by her husband. And OH YEA, like non of the characters care that you're a woman? They comment what race you are because cultural differences are the most prevalent in Thedas, not sexual or gender wise, the only places being LGBT is frowned upon (which even then, is only deemed inappropriate for royal families) are places like Tevinter.

It's made for the developers and their friends in finance. They don't care about the market, theyre not out to make money for their firm. Theyre out to get paid for selling their personal opinions.

About 10 seconds in and i would have already noped tf out. The character roll was your standard DEI bs polished off with the stronk InDePeNdeNt black whamen looking straight out of a Karl Marx novel lol. These people are all insufferable twotwaffles. I love how they forgot their main demographic to appease their masters.

I was also a tom boy. Im still not super femanine. Im an engineer who cant be bothered with pretty hair and makeup. But im definitely a woman. Im a mother of three, grateful to have a great husband and live in the west where im allowed to do whatever im good at, without anyone caring that im a woman. I agree the non binary stuff depends on "men" and "women" existing in separate labelled boxes that do not overlap. Its dumb.

Actually Taash is a teenager. An unlikeable one. I'm actually happy to have unlikeable flawed characters. I like conflict in games. Taash is a realistic representation of many messed up teens having identity issues. Taash is believable as a teen. The PROBLEM, which is UNBELIEVABLE, is the reactions of everyone around her. Nobody tells her that she is being a jerk to her mum. And others are overly supportive and affirming of her behaviour. I dont agree that the whole game is badly written.

The thing about this stupid video trend: -its taken out of context (which is that the SOLE reason Taash and Rook attend the dinner is to so to speak "deal" with Taash's pretty goddamn terrible mother.) -Its literally this one time that the "they" thing comes up .-----. You all are just pathetic 😂😂

It doesn't matter even if it were only one time. It's the same reason you don't suddenly have hitler dance around and join for dinner. And then when someone offers him a drink he goes "Sooo.... I actually dont like juice"

It's a mediaeval setting. Non binary is modern term. It's out of place. Of course we're going to take it out of context and have a good laugh at it. I don't why you're trying so hard to defend something that clearly is so busy trying to "spread the message" than actually being a game. You sound like the pathetic one 😂

First of: great video, I largely agree with your points. I'm glad I watched another video of your's before this one and knew you present your opinions in a calm, rational and nuanced way, because otherwise I probably would never have clicked on this video. It is unfortunate but the loudest people I see complaining about "DEI" and "wokeism" or whatever are not nearly as nuanced as you are. To many of them *any* representation of other races or identities is bad, no matter how well written or subtle it is, to them any female character that doesn't look like a super model with double Ds is ugly and a sign of the end times. I know these people do not represent the majority of gamers, same as militant activists that vehemently defend DEI practices, but they poison any rational discussions around these topics.

The hate for this character did more to bring people of different identities together than the actual game. I've watched a couple different reviews, and not even trans people like them. That's the most confusing thing to me. You (whoever wrote Taash) piss off and give more ammo to people who already have issues with this. It's ham fisted and badly done. But then you aren't even doing anything good for people like you? Its genuinely confusing.

If someone wants to mod every single character in a game as a black person then why not!? Oh but it also has to work the other way, they can mod a game to have all white characters too.

The whole growling thing during the romance actually makes so much more sense, when you consider Taash as a self-insert. As those actions are very common in the "fantasy" smut targeted at women. Most being powerful werewolf/dragon/vampire man falls for woman, screams mate, they do some adult wrestling, and over the story woman gets over writers latest hangup.

bro who start a conversation with that to and how much want bet in mass effect 5, there going be another companions just like Taash and probably worst to, that this companions going be either tran or non-bianry or whatever the fuck they call it and the fact in the game your rook accept it immediately, you can't argue with her or anything if this was Origin, you could literally change her mindset or kick her out of the group or straight up her straight up and the dev knew most of us would do one of those 3, I would change her mindset by she either a damn he or a she

Honestly in the beginning I thought this was voice over the game. I am really really all for inclusion and everything, but fitting this in a medieval dark fantasy world is like having a barbarian trading bitcoins with a knight.

I'm a pretty easy going gamer. I have been playing games since I was 7. Never before Dragon Age The Veilguard I didn't finish a game I wanted to play. After 10 hours I was done. I deleted the game and felt insulted as a fan of the franchise and no, I am not homophobic, transphobic, etc. like some think of the people that disliked the game. It felt like a slap in the face. Seems like nowadays is wrong to want to create an attractive straight female character, wild times. Kudos to you for being able to finish this disgrace of a game and great job on the video :)

hot take here but... Dustborn is a step in the right direction tbh, it's a terrible fukn game obviously, but it's an original ip made with a very clear purpose, the messaging and political aspects of it are the game, it's not being injected, badly, into existing beloved ips and ruining that ip in the process... if activists want activism in their games they are free to make they're own, i have a problem with it being pushed onto us by them infecting pre-existing ips i do not have a problem with them making their own games for their own... 'audience'... so yeah let them have their bad games just stop pushing it into ours...
