Hi, would you recommend one side of the island than the other? We found nice accommodation next to the pier, but heard it is not the nice part of the island? Is this true and we should be looking at some other side of the island?

Loved the vlog as we will be there in a couple of months. What a coincidence as we checking reviews of guest houses this morning and decided to stay at the same one you are at. I visited Nepal 5 times between 89 and 94, trekking so this will be my first time back since then, but too old for trekking these days.

I had a number of moans at Richy, it wasn't having a go for the sake of having a go. Some people even now dont seem to care about the guys health, they just want him to keep vlogging. It seems Richy has realised he needs a bit of back up, rather than living by the skin of his teeth day by day. Work until you have enough mate. No point in keep having to go home because the money gets tight. Goodluck

i enjoy your videos ,as they remind me of all the lost souls i met when i lived in bangkok,for ten years,god knows how they survived,a lot of them sleeping rough and begging,and these were the europeans,all with tales of lost fortunes to a thai bar girl,i think they lived as cheap as possible,but i think they could learn to be more frugal from your vids.when in thailand you need backup,for unforseen things like hospital expences,and even urgent re patriation,its not a country to be wandering around in on a shoe string budget.

The first four-hours or so, through the mountains & along narrow river-vallies to Den Chai & Uttaradit, are really beautiful ... unfortunately people on the overnight-trains often miss this section of the line, in the dark.

Hi Davey, I mean the Koh Chang just below Pattaya mate. It’s my favourite as it’s so relaxing there and not as busy as the other islands to the other side of Thailand like Koh Samui etc. Kanchanaburi is my favourite city again it’s very relaxing with the River Kwai running through it, the people are really nice, it’s not as expensive as most places, loads of great markets/temples etc and there’s loads to do there with the history of the war which really interests me. I hope you have an amazing retirement and trip around SEA🇨🇦🏴👍🏻

@ I actually realized later you did specify the Koh Chang you meant! M’bad. Haha Much busier but more to do than Koh Phayam though, no doubt. Do you know if they have the cheapo rustic bunglows option too, or no? If so, I’ll make my way for sure. Love Koh Phayam bunglows - pretty much “glamping” for me! Haha! At least since they got 24/7 power. I’ve seen earlier Chuck’s vids on his trips with Paige to Kanchanaburi (Koh’s Chang and Phayam too, for that matter), but they roll a bit different than I, so I don’t quite get the tastes of destinations from them (notime2bsad yt) as I’d like. Thus, I sure appreciates your thoughtful comments, Richie! Thanks as well for your best wishes on my retirement 🙏 Davey
