I loved your substantial "fixup" of the HF transmission jack because it's something I'd do.

You were saying you might not run/ connect the alternator. If you put a 2,2kohm (or 22k?) resistor between positive terminal and the warning light terminal, the alternator will self excite without a warning light. (You can still use a warning light)

Have been involved in many pond builds over the years ranging from 3 - 15 million Lts Yes the key way is essential to securing water retention and to obtain that you have to increase ground compaction from original levels in the surrounding area Typically I would excavate a trench at least 6 foot deep, clear the bottom then do an atomic compaction test Then return the same material to the keyway with motorscrapers running through the trench fully loaded before unloading in small layers The end result being the finished process test showed an increased compaction of 40% greater than the original Your loosely filled trench and track rolled with the dozer would easily show a compaction test of 50% lower than original making it more susceptible to water leakage Granted the motorscrapers wheels can put many tons of weight on to a small area but drum vibe rollers do a pretty good job as well Compaction is the key to success

What kind of welder are you using on the exhaust? I’m looking to upgrade from my millermatic 150 and I really like the arc characteristics of the machine you are using. Nice work friend

1:14:10 you may loose the compression fitting first as in 1:13:23 then it can rotate a little to avoid the interference. tight up the compress fitting at last.

It needs a little more fuel on the high side, it's not 4 stroking when full throttle/no load is happening.

If the ground did not reach the neutral either, maybe inspector would approve a ground lug where the ground wire reaches and then bond the ground lug with the ground lug at the top of the ats that way the grounds are on the same plane and bonded together.

John, I love your videos. But I have to say, as a professional mechanic in the diesel world I have done this too many times to get any joy out of watching it. Not because you did anything wrong, but because I know how frustrating, and time consuming this stuff is. I have done so many jobs just like this that made me want to quit being a mechanic, being a mechanic in New England has the effect.

You would think maybe u can burn out a big drain access in that area that collects leaves to prevent that collectiion of grease n twigs.seems when they build things they make them hollow but think dirt n grease will never get there or water and no place to drain off so then you have major rust or as you did grease fires!!glad yours didnt get bad ,that other fella camarata lost his whole excavater because no were near water source and even though he had two small extinguishers both were not pressurized and just duds!!.it was on its last mile anyhow but still a loss.felt for his panic,no one wants to experience that.still dont follow the chain purpose but hey it works, good enough.snooky pa.❤😊😊😊😊😊

No idea if you will see this being so old. However as a OLD man I wanted to suggest something. You should invest in a body tool. Get yourself what a long time ago was called an air file. Long sand paper and you can get a bunch of different grits. In your case it would have saved your back. I have cleaned up hundreds of blocks and heads on what we called budget builds. You will find many uses for along your journey.

Amazing video! I’ve cut wood with my husband for years, he did the falling. I’m now on my own with wood heat in a forest. Now that I’m doing it alone and can’t just ask him a question, I value videos such as yours more than you know. Thank you for all the great safety and trades knowledge! I have a couple good summers with my saw (and husband) and did not know those teeth were for leverage, nor how to unstick my blade in a bad jam! Also I would’ve probably tried unsticking it by putting a jack or lever to lift from the bottom of the tree, I see how the wedges create the same effect! Thanks again!

its not slipping its going down and super fast. i give few examples small trimmer with round , so basically head gets stuck cant remove cant block to remove head, all happen in few times of use. trimmer made so what you would buy new huge part as there is no way to stop shaft on bearings, and its desighned so you would have no chance of hooking to shaft. next small stihl chainsaw has no chain tensioner and has no oiler or oil :D and this is top chainsaw c ompany dear god makita did evrything as it should a other also stihl couldnt even use normal battery used cheapest smallest battery which long not used while others in 18 volt or 20. next battery chainsaw stihl near shaft where chain is moving plastic covering shaft from engine. plastic gets stuck casue its plastic touching metal there is no excuse for that huge saw and than plastic getsstuck melted shaft gets stuck overcurrent itself and fry engine melting plastics kills machine and list goes on and you call it best chaisnaw brand. do not buy ittoday its trash dear god even china made are better.

Laughed when you mused about sliding the swing bearing out the side - I think you may have forgotten about the variable distributor right in the middle and while yes you could take that out first, that alone is not an easy job and you certainly could not start the engine to assist with lifting with all those hoses disconnected If I remember correctly, you gauge the bearing wear by measuring track frame to chassis with bucket off the ground and then again with bucket pushing down and lifting the tracks - difference should be less than 5mm
