Both my knees don't even come close to the floor... I can't even push them anywhere close.... Any tips?
@JasonCrandellYoga4 күн бұрын
Definitely don’t push…. That’s a recipe for knee problems. Take your time, keep working on the preparations! I’ve practiced for 30 years and Padmasana is still elusive on one side for me. It’s okay.

Hi Jason thank you so much. Was trying to work on internal rotation for ages and I do love the reclined twist + figure 8. Although, I do feel tension on one knee with that one and firelock, do you have any variation I can do ? or just avoid them for now and keep practicing the others ? Thank you ))

Thank you, Jason for explaining the benefits of some of my favorite plank variations! I cite you every time I teach an “almost-but-not-quite” version of a pose. I.e. almost-but-not-quite- bow or almost-but- not-quite-pidgeon. So fun!

Fabulous (as ever). I have a couple of students who struggle with side planks due to pain in their shoulders/wrists. Is there a modification of the side plank variation which relieves some of the pressure?
@JasonCrandellYoga4 күн бұрын
For wrist issues, you might have some luck taking your hand further forward (it won’t be under the shoulder any longer). Otherwise, you can have them bring their forearm to the floor. With regards to shoulders, honestly, there are too many variables involved for me to give a sensible answer other than… experiment with arm position and rotation.

thanks for this Jason! does the solution change depending if the pain is medial or lateral, or this should help either way?
@JasonCrandellYoga4 күн бұрын
Medial and lateral pain are usually produced by the same issue: too much abduction and rotation of the shin. So, honestly, this should work regardless of whether it’s inner or outer knee pain.

"Fewer poses and staying longer." Great suggestion! I was initially trained this way, and it is the best practice for my body.
