Brandon your videos are always great to watch! I love when you show up and glad I came across your channel a while back. Isn’t it crazy with the special effects and more effort not getting as many views? Some of my most crap videos get the views and when I say views I use that term lightly😂 I want you to know I appreciate when you do the tricky stuff! It blows my mind! Also off subject, the paint color in the room you’re in is very nice. That’s me…. A slow grow and I LOVE doing this and I’m going to keep going. I look forward to 2025 and hoping to see more of you.

Don’t get too excited for monetizing anyways. I have months that only bring in $30 and others that have been about $150-$180. Most of the time the cost of making a video is less than the ad revenue that comes in. Still just making what I want and enjoying the process.

Always coming out with great tips and thank you for the inspo shout out! I saw someone comment about asking why in a store… it’s not really about the location but with that said, if you can record/vlog/talk out loud by yourself in a store, you can pretty much do it anywhere haha. So it’s the bootcamp of vlogging IMO 🤣 - Nice to see you back and happy holidays

The production is great on this I like the raw video and audio. The post production shines. Great transitions soundtrack is a perfect tone. Great message too. I’m glad to hear you’re starting to get yourself unstuck! It helped me to think about this concept of getting unstuck. In order to get unstuck, we first have to be stuck and recognize that we are stuck. When I’ve been in really stuck situations it’s been some of the worst times of my life. then getting unstuck from those situations was even harder to work through. If this video is basically eat, pray loves plot., This comment is what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but also if nothing tries to kill you, your ceiling for growth is much lower. I’ve had my mental health, absolutely broken by challenges. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. I think inconsistency is OK over the course of a lifetime. It’s OK to feel down. It’s OK to get into ruts. Even if you’ve triumph over similar stuck situations in the past, it’s OK to let yourself feel sorry for yourself at the lowest points. My path towards better isn’t linear and knowing that makes me a little bit more resilient in futurestuck situations. Anyway, dope video yo. Thanks for provoking thought.
@BrandonBautista4 күн бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thorough and vulnerable response. I’m glad the video resonated and gave you a moment to reflect on getting unstuck. You’re right-progress isn’t linear, and it’s OK to acknowledge the hard parts, sit with them, and move forward when you’re ready. Resilience is built in those moments; thanks for the reminder.

@ Also, about filming yourself in the store, I know the feeling of trying to get a sneaky shot of myself in public like that. However, about a year ago, I had the mad idea to film a few seconds of my life - EVERY DAY - in 2024. To make a video of my year. Talk about hard! I also filmed myself having breakfast with a friend in a coffee shop, without other people noticing me doing that! I had some very awkward moments as you did, but man, I learned a lot about filming myself in public. Just completing the edit this week to get it out before Christmas ‘I filmed everyday for a year at 67’ - a mad idea/ boot camp for KZbin ninjas stealth shooting! 😂

WoW! Ok, so I guess I am an old school subscriber who joined your journey before all this. I definitely am not a target subscriber now. I am NOT a Procrastinator, someone who is there one minute, gone the next and needs to be nudged or nagged to do a channel etc. I live a very, very comfortable life in Northeastern Brazil, retired with my wife because since I was 10 years old it was both my mindset and goal. I do not believe in a lot of the KZbin advise nowadays. My only two cents are that there is still a significant amount of the population that appreciates a channel where you do what you promise to do, when you promise to do it and do it well. Have you ever asked a girl out and worried that you did it too well. If only you could have been sloppier? Keep the drama almost non-existent and like your other viewer "...Judith..."says concentrate on the message. My skill is in Animation, so I am not a One Man, One Mic Vlogger and apparently not in line for advice from almost everyone who is "over 40". Having said that, to give you an idea. My list of Content Creators who do what they say, with no drama are "Wolters World" for Travel; "The Ramsey Show" for Finance; "Saturday Night Network" for SNL Comedy, and my #1 "AWKWARD PUPPETS". All Content, No Chaser...No, my head hurts this week, broke my nails last week etc.. No idea what their personal life is or their "problems'. Just what I subscribed for and that's what I got. - Roddie - 🤔

The place you record video is not important... the message is. That's what I try to tell myself anyway 😅 Also, why do you absolutely want to film in a store? If it's to practice filming in public, I would suggest doing it where it would be"normal" for, let's say, tourist to film. Also, pretending I am reviewing a product or that I am getting paid for this helps me. I am glad you are back!
@BrandonBautista6 күн бұрын
That is a really good question, Judith. I guess it's partly because I want to have a more dynamic feel to my videos, with movement in the background, as a contrast to the majority of my videos filmed in a quiet part of my house. And partly because it makes me uncomfortable and it's something I want to get better at. You're right, I would feel a lot more comfortable in a touristy place; I just live in a pretty boring area, and stores are warm and well lit! 😂 Thank you for giving me something to think about!

Getting stuck sucks, your tip about taking inspiration from creators that you follow is a good one though…that’s what I do to try and muster up some motivation. Striving to make that perfect video is a problem that I have too. I listened to my wife (how crazy does that sound?) when she told me social media is supposed to be fun, not necessarily perfect. Great video as always Brandon.

Currently, we are looking for a host for our new channel on KZbin. I think you’d be a perfect fit for a new project I’m working on. If you’re interested, pls check you email and let’s chat more about it.

It's hard to be consistent the older you get! Family, kids, bills all those things. If you find a way to make it work, having discipline and finding ways to make more content then you will succeed. Batch recording is good but can be a lot of work if you don't do it right. I've watched your channel over the last year and you have come a long way! It took you all those years to get to 1000 but you are well on your way now 😎

Spot on indeed, my situation exactly :) I’ve done close to 20 videos since march, grown from 7 to 430-ish, on and off a bit, and then did 2 last year in september-ish, and now gearing up to drop 3-4 new videos again since i’ve been filming stuff as projects happen but not had time to edit (and I turned 50 this year) … and all the while I’ve been on and off, the subs and views have been growing, not steadily but now and then in bursts. And as I’m closing in on 500 subs, halfway to 1k, the watch time hours are closing in on 2k, so almost halfway there to sniffing at monetization. And I think that is the key takeaway here, at least for me from my experience, as much as I would like to make videos *all* the time, or rather projects that I film and *then* make videos from, now and then is perfectly fine. Treating it as a hobby, but giving it my *all* when I have time, is perfectly fine as long as one is aware that consistency only affects the potential *speed* of growth, and really growth has to do with frequency, the higher the frequency of your videos the faster growth will be, *if* the quality is consistent and your content is interesting. And that’s the key advantage of being older: you can see past the one liner BS pitches from people trying to be youtube coaches, and see things for what they are :) It’s not good or bad, it’s better or worse. Upload frequently but quality is so and so: growth will be slower than if you upload frequently and quality of content is good. Upload infrequently and quality of content is so and so: growth will be slower than if you upload infrequently but quality of content is way above average. Simple facts of life and nothing one should pay a coach to tell you. Video not getting views? It’s not the algorithm, not even if the algorithm is showing your video to the wrong people, because the algorithm is showing your video to people based on what you
