My only gripe is the lack of neutral ending in the new story. I thought that the "Vengeance" part refers to both Bethel and Quadistu, after seeing how much damage both of those factions did, and even when it comes to the protagonist, it is still rather personal. It would've been cool to have an ending where you basically destroy them all. Still, they did manage to make a compelling revenge story.

I never expected SMTV Vengeance to be bigger, the Vengeance route felt like it had more content though. Whatever way you want to see it, the game is definitely better, the added features are a big plus. One downside of the open field kind of thing that SMTV has going for it, is that there is a serious lack of dungeons, just in general, there are some, but not enough for my taste, because the game is not "dungeon based" anymore, which is actually fine, but I love my dungeons, and it is noticeable for me personally. The difficulty is an intersting one, I feel like some of the bosses are easier than the original, others are much harder, and you definitely want to plan around those. But SMTV is definitely easier than SMT3, because its more fair, you can see all the information about an enemy or boss by analyzing them (except for their HP) that alone makes the game easier, but in the right way in my opinion. Just the Magatsu Rails, the fact that you can save anywhere and that Abcesses don't obfuscate the map anymore, makes Vengeance better than the original.

It's crazy how disappointed I was with base smt v, but I was so amazed with vengenace. I binged it in one week and didn't want it to end

Great review but demons and personas are not the same thing, so is not a matter of prefference how you call them.

I'm loving the vengeance story route, it really fleshes out characters that barely got two minutes of screen time. Forgive the subject change but I haven't seen it anywhere online; When doing any of the new game plus options, do Gustaves unlocked essences carry over or will I have to start over in that regard?

ending definitely needed a little more than pick X thing which cov still had the issue of the scaling "seemed" better this time around, some demons had their in the wild level reduced, or had them moved (Yamata No Orochi is moved from area 4's nordic area for example). spoiler, spoiler, spoiler, close to ending spoiler I don't like that we don't keep the Vengeance exclusive form, very stinky.

I really do wish they remade Persona 1 and 2. It is just not cool that for a long time Atlus did not acknowledge those entries and as a result most modern day fans treat them like they do not exist. If they ever do remake those games they are gonna have to change a lot.

Just finished my first playthrough and I had a blast. My favorite addition is having the human characters be playable in the new story route.

Hey great video! I just wanted to update some info as I’ve played the original completely many times. In the original you don’t have all three ending from the start. Your choices actually matter. It’s only in vengeance that the original endings are a freebie. And the choices only matter for the vengeance run. Also in the original there is a hidden secret 4th ending which is really awesome. Not many people know of it. I wonder if there is a hidden 3rd ending in this game for Vengeance?

I played the original SMT V. As soon I saw the trailer for Vengeance, I knew I was buying it day 1 (I did, and I got the last steel book edition they had 💀). I haven’t finished the canon of vengeance yet, but so far, I’m glad I didn’t wait to get the game. Maybe I’ll buy Nocturne later down the line. SMT V was my first ATLUS game, and coming from an other guy who played the original, I definitely recommend you play vengeance as well, even if you played the original.

currently playing the game and I think I'm about half way through, just got my new "form". what I'm most disappointed about is the SMT aspect that was completely forgotten. Yeah I made decisions so far, but most of them you had to decide between "Yes" and "Of Course" it feels like. Also the Alignment system so far is only existent in the demon compendium. Like, that was *THE* aspect I loved so much about the games. Choose how your story plays out. In the Original SMT 5 you got to choose the ending right before it happened. Still hoping they "fixed" this is Vengance but I have my doubts. I just hope they didn't forget the one aspect that made SMT what it is today

the law vs chaos endings aren't ALWAYS just tied to top or bottom, there are several main quest times where answering the top selection to yoko will sway you drastically towards chaos and same with tao

The final arc ruined the story, instead of fixing it they managed to make it even more rushed and disappointing. Gameplay wise Vengeance is perfect, in terms of story it's ok, better than the original but still very weak. This also shows me that after SMT IV, the team of writters that are know handling the story is kinda bad(the people behind V's story are the same ones from TMS, IV Apocalypse and some from SH2 with some supervisors of other games, and judging by how these other games were also bad story wise, SMT is in bad hands regarding story, wish that the same doesn't happen with Persona's side since the next game will be entirely made by the people behind P5R and P3R which so far have doing greatly opposed to the SMT side).

Vengeance was doing so well up until the 4 way Qadistu fight, the story falls off a steep cliff after it. Dazai remains one of the single worst fumbles Atlus has ever made.

I loved this game right up until the end. I was kind of disappointed in how the ending was pretty much the same. I wish they spent a few more minutes in the writing room for it lol. Oh well amazing game and I’m kind of sad it’s come and gone for me already. I haven’t been excited for a new game to drop in yearssss so that was cool

smt 2 is a direct sequel to smt1 so you can say that smt5 is the only "sequel" to a modern smt game

The gameplay is better. Definitely have a lot of fun playing and grinding. But the story? Man, the story was even worse than the original ><

Just wanted to correct something I said around the 6:21 mark. Godborn isn't actually a new difficulty but rather a new version of NG+. It carries over your level, stats, items, demos, etc, but it also makes every enemy in the game level 150. When starting a Godborn run, you can select any difficulty, including Safety. My bad guys, just unlocked it for myself lol -Tin

I'm pretty happy with Vengeance (especially with the second last boss in venceance's law path) the only thing that kinda grinds my gears, is that they still killed Saori..... I thought there'd be an option to at least keep her alive but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo xD

I've started from Persona 3 and now I am considering playing 2. In the past quality of music made my head hurt so I've stopped. For me, I would love it to have better graphics - like UE5, even with possibility to mod in path tracing - I like how adding path tracing can influence the storytelling.

Fighting both Parvati and Narasimha in the 6th layer (final dungeon) for the 20th time but still can't find Pinaka and Nandaka for the optional bosses.

Are we as a species this creatively bankrupt? I love the first remake and think the second is a great leap forward. But I'm growing so tired of this remake hysteria that has gripped us, not just in video games but in movies. Where did all the genuine creativity that brought us the original Resident Evil back in the mid 90's go? Have we passed the point where nothing new or genuine be made anymore?

Great video with well articulated points, but personally I have 0 interest in seeing time and resources put into another RE1 remake (or a remake in general right now). I'm not a huge fan of the 3rd Person OTS style for survival horror like in 2. I do think that style works better for the more action-oriented titles like 3 or 4 and I think fixed camera or 1st person works far better for the survival horror genre (that's not to say I think 2 remake is bad - it's still an excellent game). RE1 remake though is the perfect example of what a remake should be. Didn't really change the core gameplay experience or story, only improved and added. The only things I really see it improving on if they did another remake is the story and voice acting. Perhaps as well making a cohesive story that ties both the Chris and Jill scenarios into each other so we can actually have both Barry and Rebecca getting saved. But even then they should just focus on creating actual brand new RE experiences (RE9, 10, and so on) with everything they did in RE2 remake in mind. Even with my aforementioned comments of the 3rd person OTS system for survival horror, the majority of people loved it and I'd much rather they try creating a brand new game with all of the same concepts from that (obviously with different story, characters, gameplay). You do bring up a really good point in favor of RE1 being remade again to tie the story into the eventual RE CVX and RE5 Remakes for the modern audiences. Those are two games that I definitely think could useremakes (for very different reasons from eachother) and it would be a bit odd to throw those out there and not remake the original as well. My counter point, which is more just an idea, is that I think rather than doing a full remake of 1 they can instead incorporate the story into a Code Veronica remake if they go that route. This way they bring only the elements of the story they need to into Code Veronica, don't run the risk of creating a remake that doesn't surpass the first remake they did of the game, and maybe even give people incentive to buy and play that first remake that haven't already. Although yes, it would be a bit jarring for some to go from Code Veronica remake in the modern style into RE1 Remake as you point out, but that's just more of an option to see the rest of the story from that game that doesn't tie directly into Code Veronica. All of the necessary story elements pertaining to Chris/Wesker would still get incorporated into the CV remake through flashback cutscenes. Admittedly though I'm suffering quite a bit from "remake" fatigue. I just want new RE experiences that I don't have to wait 4-5 years for in between because they're putting resources into remaking games instead of creating new ones.

Regarding Dead Space Mobile there is no official way to install them nowdays, for Android (emulating) your device must run 13 or below in order for it to run (for 14 it doesn't even allow you to install it) and for iOS you need to have the actual hardware like an iPad or iPhone that runs iOS 9 or below (on iOS 10 there is a bug with the audio but the rest works fine) but in order to install you kinda need some tools that I would highly recommend using like a secondary PC or if you have a hard disk that you don't use that much, you can use it to install Windows, then install the tools, jailbreak the device to install the game or sideload the app and once you're done, disconnect that disk and just safe it somewhere. There were also a version for Blackberry that on contrary to Android version, it did featured the new difficulty and game modes that were exclusively available for iOS version, and even so within iOS some models had exclusive stuff like graphical upgrades and bug corrections like iPad Mini 1, iPad 2 and iPhone 5.

RE1 certainly doesn't need a remake. I guess I'd play it if they made one but games like Code Veronica are far more deserving of the remake treatment. I also suspect a lot of the people that want a RE1 re-remake are just the ones who can't get used to the tank controls.

I just hope whatever they decide to release next gets rid of that awful aiming zoom.

I think so, mainly to help bring in more new fans without tanks controls so it’ll be more easy to pick up, I love the old school RE and play it yearly, but my biggest and only gripe is tank controls, they’re honestly horrible

Alissa Vincent gets a lot of acknowledgment in the remake. She also has a cameo in extraction, she’s the security officer who finds McNeil and co. Otherwise, I’d say Extraction is easily the best piece of expanded media. Other than the prequel comic, and Mobile.

I'm not gonna watch the whole video I bet you have great videos and stuff but they do honestly they made there mistakes for RE3 and made a wonderful remake with RE4 which is amazing and just the best remake of all so if they learned and take time and care like they did with 4 i think they have another good game plus i want to see enemies in the game with new graphics especially yawn the snake dope ass boss fight and shit
