No, it should synch automatically. If there is a problem check the small slider on the side of the card. It is designed to lock the card and prevent adding or deleting files.

If you press the i button twice on the camera to bring up your options on the back screen, the two buttons you need to look at are focus mode and AF- area mode, which is next to it. It sounds like you have set the focus mode to AF-S, which is correct. Now you need to set AF-area mode to single point AF. This allows you to focus using a single focus point. It will begin in the middle of the frame. If you want move the focus point, just pressing the i button once to bring up the back screen, you will see the focus grid shown just below the shutter speed dial. using the multi-selector you can move the focus point, either to any of the 11 points or 39 points, depending on your setting.

Hi, the camera will not auto focus when you are shooting videos. You can, however, press the shutter/focus button while the camera is recording and it will focus. You don't have to stop recording..

can you give me some more info? What are your trying to photograph - is there not much light around? also if you set the mode dial to shutter M (manual) you can dictate the shutter speed - then you will see if there is another problem (like lack of light).

Hi, yes it would certainly be good enough as a still camera for your school newspaper. If you want use it fro video, the video quality will be plenty good enough too, but you will probably want to record the sound externally - particularly if you are interviewing someone. There is an off option on the mode dial. if you move the dial to anything else (auto, for example), then it is switched on and in auto mode.

Hi, pretty much as high as you can get. 256gb cards are around and would work fine. Make sure they are suitable for shooting video (so a sdxc card for example). All I would say is that the bigger the card, the more likely you will take longer intervals between downloading your content from your camera. If you don't back up your stuff, you might loose it if the card fiais. For that reason I use 32GB cards.

Hi, The remote transfer only works for still images, not for video. The only way to transfer video from the camera to a mobile phone is via email, or something like dropbox. But i think you will have to go via a laptop or desktop computer.

when you set the timer, pressing set just tells the camera to use those timer settings. you still need to press the shutter button to take the picture.

That's the problem. I set the timer and pressed "set", and when I press the shutter button all the way down, nothing happens. The timer doesn't count down on a fully charged battery.@@NikonD5200Channel

@@realgagne2956 Remember that the shutter button performs 2 functions - first to focus and set the exposure, then to open the shutter. If you just press the shutter button without allowing the camera to fix focus and exposure first, it won't be able to open the shutter.

Hi, yes it does have a wifi setting. goto set up menu three ( the spanner icon) and you will find the wifi setup options.

As you probably know, there is a limit for how long (or how big) your single recordings can be. They can either be 29.59 minutes long, or 4GB in size. If you shoot 1080, then you will reach 4GB in about 11 minutes. I think you just have to think your video project through so that you stay within those limits. I hope this helps..

Hi, the best way id to remove the SD card and upload the videos straight to a computer. These files are much larger than photo files and it is actually quicker this way. Most laptop computers have an SD port, or you can buy one quite cheaply that will have a USB connection.

The easiest way is to email it. If you have editing software you could reduce it to a smaller file size - 720 perhaps.

provided you use the right webcam software: www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/product/apps-software/webcam-utility you will be fine. This is because the camera is not actually recording - you are just using it as a webcam.

there is no on switch for this camera. you just turn the mode dial - the dial on the to of the camera. can you turn it round to M and see what happens?
