Maximum fun for cargo and/or young family. Ultimate family toy and hobby! Wake up to hugely variable cycling universe, America!

Absolutely! The Carrie is perfect for families and cargo-so versatile and fun! It’s amazing to see how much the cycling world has to offer, and the Carrie opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Hopefully, more people in the U.S. catch on to this exciting way to move around! Do you use an electric bike for transportation?

@@Propelbikes Yes I do. 70yo, limited-mobility handicapper here. 4 Hase trikes here. Lepus is wheelchair/dual forearm crutch accessible with 25-inch-high seat option. E-assist, 2WD, Rohloff gearbox. Lessened speed leaves cassette shifting hugely worthless. No longer drive minivan. Owned tadpole recumbents not accessible for about 15 years now. Heel-cup pedals used (straps removed) allow arthritic movement that clipless pedals disallow! Open top saddlebags below both sides of recumbent seat, allow food/water access while remaining seated! Solid rubber tires for no able access of a flat tire!

If you have lot of stopping and starting in a hilly area like I do, I strongly recommend the IGH. If I have to break suddenly and then try to get going again, the ability to downshift while stopped is enormously useful. I have a five year old Tern GSD S00, and the IGH is still amazing and I wouldn't buy a cargo bike without it. (Propel's customer service is great, BTW.)

Great point! The IGH (internal gear hub) is a game changer, especially in stop-and-go situations or hilly areas. Being able to shift while stopped adds so much convenience. The Tern GSD S00 is a solid choice, and it's awesome to hear your IGH is still going strong after five years! And thanks for the kind words about Propel’s customer service-we’re always here to help! :)

I’d love one of these. I wonder if they can make it around the TIGHT, corners of the ramps for the freeway bridges. I can barely get my regular bike around those corners. A big thing stopping me from buying a front loader is the stupid placement of our air conditioning unit, directly in front of our back door. I would have to use the garage door to get in and out! I would really need to take a test ride to my home before I would pull the trigger on any bike bigger than a regular bike.

Look up Black Iron Horse for tightest steering cargo/family trike.
@Propelbikes2 ай бұрын
That’s definitely something to consider! Tight corners can be tricky, especially on ramps, but the Riese & Müller Carrie handles surprisingly well for a front loader. I totally get the concern about storage and access-having to work around the air conditioning unit sounds like a challenge. A test ride to your home would be a great way to see if it fits your needs. If you’re ever ready, we’d be happy to set something up so you can try it out firsthand!

Seems like a pretty sweet bike. The cargo box is very nice. Interesting how they have a larger brake disc in the rear, though. Never seen that before. Maybe they weren't able to fit a 203 on that fork.

How is the foot clearance? I mean when pedaling. Do you hit the rack or box? Seems more cramped compared to a Load 60.
@geertdooms84962 ай бұрын
I took one for a test drive and frequently hit the stand while pedaling, just like with the packster. Deal breaker for me to be honest :(
@Propelbikes2 ай бұрын
i’ve had this experience on many front loader, cargo bikes. Ultimately, I find it’s due to me, placing my foot in the improper position. It’s very easy to pedal an electric assisted bike with the spindle at the middle of my foot even though the proper position is to have the spindle under the ball on my foot. I think if you have your foot in the proper position, this is not an issue even if you have pretty big feet. Having the proper saddle height also helps address this issue.

Is the internal gear with chain version compatible with motorcycle chains? I've always been concerned that belt sacrifices availability for durability. Also, I live in the Philippines, how might I have one shipped over?

If ebike or anything certifies Made In Germany, no need to review, lol. Germans know their stuff of engineering of QUALITY AND [RACTICAL. Only bad is their price tag for folks in lower sector of buying. EBike is a great model and weight in the middle BALANCES ebike as this is most common of ebikes of the balance from back to front, especially Fat tire ebikes and why makers making 2 motors on ebike, this was the issue with fat tires.

Made in Germany definitely speaks to quality and craftsmanship. The engineering is top-notch, but I hear you on the price-high-quality bikes like this can be an investment. The balance on the Riese & Müller Carrie is really well thought out, making it a smooth ride even with cargo.

I agree with everyone. You can save a lot of money by using these as a car replacement, but the price is frankly insane. Many of the components (seat, suspension seatpost, lights, etc.) are not high end or expensive. 545 wh battery should not be the base on a bike this expensive. I get it, because I've purchased Bosch e-bikes and bit my tongue knowing the margins are sky high.
