I’ve been all over the country, east to west coast and the Outer Banks has the worst pizza in the country. I go there every year and ordered form all these places and I just won’t order pizza there anymore. I don’t think the locals know how bad their pizza actually is. If I had the capital I would move there open a pizza shop and fix the problem because this is sad.

I am sorry for the loss of sweet Vivi. I know the heartbreak of such a loss. I have been without a dog for quite a few years now, and life just isn't the same. Looks like you have the right remedy. Also, either I have missed something, or you haven't been posting many videos in awhile. It's good to see you back.
@fatherandsonsfishing2 ай бұрын
Thanks Dana. No, you haven't missed anything, I haven't been on YT much but I do look forward to getting more active at some point. We're at the stage where the kids are so busy with sports, music, etc and I hardly have time to fish or make videos. I do see your IG photos and they always want to make me grab a rod and head out to the water.

Thanks Lance! The times I've been without a dog in my life, going back to early childhood, have just been more lonely and not as enjoyable so we are thrilled beyond measure to have Louise keeping us on our toes. Only someone else who is also a dog lover can fully understand. One of my favorite things so far is that she went into the garage and I had a couple of fishing poles laying down and she went right over and kept smelling them. Sounds like I've got a new fishing partner!

Dr. Heinzel - Your video feels a bit like fate. Wasn't expecting a video on tomatoes to turn into a one about losing a dog (else I might have saved watching for later). I had to put down my Golden Retriever yesterday - the day after her 11th birthday - so the piece on Vivi really hit home for me. I quickly went from sadness to absolute joy after seeing your Golden puppy trotting around the yard. Give Louise some extra snuggles from me... the ones I can no longer give to Maggie.
@fatherandsonsfishing2 ай бұрын
Laura, my heart aches for you. I am so sorry you had to say goodbye to Maggie. Anyone who is a dog lover like we are can't imagine not having a dog in their lives, only the cruel trick Mother Nature plays on us is that their lifespans don't synch up with ours. There are no genuine words of consolation I can say because it sucks, it's awful, it's sad, and it's lonely, but there will be a time when you can welcome another dog into your life and your heart, and I wish you as much comfort and peace as possible until that time.

Sorry for the loss of your sweet pup, the worst part of dogs in the family is their relatively short lives. Dogs make life better but if we’re lucky as one dog leaves our lives another comes to fill the void left behind. What a beautiful pup Louise is, can’t wait to follow along during her growth. Speaking of growth…..Hard to believe how big the boys have grown, won’t be long before you’re sending Alex off to College….. on a Baseball scholarship maybe 🤞 Great to see you and the fam again Randy take care and enjoy that pup. ✌️😎
@fatherandsonsfishing2 ай бұрын
I know there is no set timeline on how soon you should get a dog after the death of another dog. For us it was 8 months and those were very boring, bland, quiet, and lonely months, but I am glad we did wait a little because we were all ready to welcome Louise into our lives. When I first started watching your channel, I loved watching all the adventures that Tucker went on with you, and I've thought about you and Karen as we have welcomed new joy into our lives, just as you did a couple years ago with Bodhi. Even though their lifespans don't synch up with ours, I still feel like having a dog in your life is one of the best things anyone can do. And talking about college scholarships, fingers crossed! Both boys are good at baseball, but Alex has gotten to the stage of really dedicating himself to baseball. At 14, he is 6'2" and is consistently in the low 70's on his fastball and gaining more velocity practically every day. I plan to do a video about it at some point, but we (mostly me, lol) built a MLB replica pitching mound and 60'6" batters box with a home plate in our small side yard and it's been great to watch him go out there an work.

Lucky for us my sister was a strong swimmer because otherwise my dad would have drown that day. I only recently realized how close a call it was.

Thanks for the review of Gingerbread House. I purchased the restaurant in May 2023 when you rated the restaurant. I have since changed the crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni and welcome you to evaluate the new product. We will soon go through rebranding as well.
@fatherandsonsfishing Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Tom. I seem to recall that Gingerbread House had just opened again under new ownership at the time of my review so that all now comes full circle for me. If you've seen my other reviews of Outer Banks pizza restaurants in this video or our other two, the primary goal is to positively showcase Outer Banks pizza restaurants. Of course, I liked some pizzas more than others but my goal was always to highlight the restaurant rather than to say this place is better than that place. Unless it was one of the chains. We didn't score them very high, LOL. All of that said, and also because you mention you've changed the pizza, I remember not being blown away by the pizza. Because Gingerbread House had been closed when we reviewed in Jan. and in April, and because I saw so many comments saying that peoples' favorite place was Gingerbread House and we should try it, I reviewed it in May with anticipation of a high score. The crust was the biggest problem, IMO. At the time, it was the thickest crust of any OBX restaurant I'd reviewed, and because Bakery was in the name of the store, I was hoping for a spectacular crust and it just wasn't for me. Again, I'm only sharing this type of critique because you said that you've changed the pizza. I ended up giving the May 2023 version a 76 and while it wasn't as high a score as some others, the pizza certainly wasn't bad. If I was there on vacation, would I have it for dinner one night? Of course. If I were a local, would it be a place I ordered from every so often? Definitely. We are planning to do another Pizza Review this fall/winter. Our main focus is going to be on pizzas from non-pizza restaurants that we've previously not reviewed, but we do plan to revisit a few places and Gingerbread House will definitely be on the list!
