I was just in Edinburgh a week ago and got to hear this story from a ghost tour. He added that they tore down the Calvinist meeting house and found a tunnel. Apparently there were alcoves in it that held a whale bone, a child’s skeleton, and one other object. He also said that the prosecutors asked Weir to repent before they executed him but Weir refused, as he didn’t want to anger Satan more than he had. Even though it was filled with young people returning to college and tourists while enjoying rare nice weather, it’s quite creepy at night. Indeed, I’d just been to Glasgow and that city is an urban cesspit downtown, it was nowhere near as creepy.

I was fortunate enough to have read an old paperback history of the Clearances, small print, dry reading. I've been tormented ever since at the injustices heaped on those innocent folk. Terrible actions taken, unforgivable.

Amazing story. Well told except for one thing, the old man at the door… you referred to later as a female much like the Banshee. That was a little confusing. Otherwise, the setting and the music were very haunting. Oh and I did look, there is a manse in Durness, but it’s a cottage. By the looks of it, i doubt it’s the same one from your story. Although it is behind the church of Durness….😉

My oppression started in Perth. I stayed there for six weeks and only left when I escaped my abvser, but in that six weeks, a nasty spirit attached to me and gave me a horrid few years. The energy there was thick.

An old spell passed down through the Scottish immigrants to evict spirits and haints from one's abode is to place an iron nail on the stoop or front porch, pour a little whiskey on it, then strike it 3 times with a metal hammer. The first strike evicts the spirit or haint from the house, the second one evicts it from the property, and the third strike seals the home and property and will keep spirits and haints out for as long as the nail remains. Doing this when moving in a new house will keep any spirits or haints from coming in with you.
