How long have you had your printer before you had to change the print head?
@CreatedWorkshop16 күн бұрын
I had it about a month or so, but it was negligence on my part. When I was running low on ink I didn't put it into vacation mode and flush the head out, I just kept running ink flushes to keep it good even though I had little/no white ink left, and that's why the head went out.

I do mine in Red Oak and have only been charging about $30.00. Pricing things has been a big problem for me.
@CreatedWorkshop2 ай бұрын
It's going to depend on your market for sure, as not every market supports the same type of pricing. Size also plays into it a bit as well, so just play around with your area and see what works best. Red oak is sometimes a little lower on the "desirability" scale than maple, and walnut is often higher on that scale, so your material choice could also play a factor there.

Good video. I think I would add a small half circle cut out to the jig template (for each coaster) to aid your fingers in picking the coasters out without moving the jig. But I'm nit-picking it's a great video.

Thank you for the video. My take away I'm going to try next time I do coasters is just blowing them off with air.that was so easy. I started with water, then waiting for them to dry. Then I moved to rubbing alcohol, it dries immediately. But air is so much cheaper in the long run.

@@kendrahwiltz8074 With external chillers, if your chiller goes out for whatever reason, you can simply just purchase a new one on Amazon and you're up and running in a day or two. With built-in chillers, you are at the mercy of the manufacturer with how fast they can get you a replacement. Finally! A KZbinr’s workshop that’s just as messy as mine! Did you look at the OMTech machines before deciding on the Monport?
@CreatedWorkshop3 ай бұрын
I did! Honestly, being completely honest, my decision was made based on who would work with me. And, I’ve had a great experience with my Monport. However, OMTech is also a fantastic company with great machines! You really can’t go wrong either way. Even though I work directly with Monport and am an official partner, I will never sell out/shill for a company. Monport and OMTech are almost the same when it comes to the various lasers. Some Monport eeks out, and some ONTech eeks out.

I use the same method - you might want to remind everyone to be sure and have the power of the laser at %1 or lower.

I don't have a video on it, but just manually input the stuff that's in the video (so when it asks for bed size, use the size in the video, etc.) and then once it's added, just specify the port it's connected to (if it shows multiple COM ports then just try each one until you find it, no harm in choosing the wrong one.)

I’m having framing issues and the material test is engraving in reverse. The framing is just all over the place and not where I have the image. Any ideas on both of these issues?
@CreatedWorkshop4 ай бұрын
For material test, it goes based off of where you have your origin set. So, if your origin is set to "absolute position" it'll place the test in the middle of your bed. If you have it set to user origin, and so on. For the engraving in reverse, that's very odd. Could you send me a picture on Instagram (or email it to me patrick @ created workshop (dot) com)

Nice video. I just bought a K40 on Ebay and i will have to change the tube. Can i ask what are the measurements. The one that i keep seeing in the search results are 720mm 50mm diameter. Just want to make sure I get the right one :) Cheers
@CreatedWorkshop4 ай бұрын
I actually don't have the K40 at my main shop anymore, so I can't get the specific measurements of this one. But, I do know that Monport's K40 40W tube is 720mm long and 50mm diameter, so that sounds correct!

@@alb673 You can only do a 40W with the standard housing and power supply. You’ll need a longer housing/extension plus a better power supply for a more powerful tube

When you showed the command for windows and pointed out the Ethernet IP and subnet i had to smack myself for not trying that earlier.

What did you need subnet mask for?
@CreatedWorkshop4 ай бұрын
That's just a required part of the setup. It's a typical subnet mask for a normal Ethernet connection, and is just something that has to be set. Most devices set the subnet mask automatically, this just requires it to be set manually.

Great job! It looks like a good amount of charring on the cuts...any comments on that?
@CreatedWorkshop4 ай бұрын
Dialing in my focal distance (wasn't perfect stock) and adding proper shop air fixed the charring almost entirely for me. I have some more videos coming up on how to add shop air and stuff, but that's the easiest way to fix it is to have a more powerful air assist.

why not use port A Axis? Need to use Y Axis?
@CreatedWorkshop4 ай бұрын
That's how SainSmart designed the laser to function. Most lasers actually use the Y axis though and leave X live as the head only has to move left to right. More professional applications have an additional axis that they use so you can leave the whole gantry available, but on cheaper ones like this they just piggy back off the Y

how do I know where the laser will start prinint, or how do I tell it where to start printing.
@CreatedWorkshop5 ай бұрын
That's controlled by your origin point. There's three options: absolute position (where you place it on the workspace is where it'll work), user origin (move the head to a place and set user origin), or current position (wherever the laser is that's where it starts). Then, right around that selection is the actual job origin point. This is where you choose like top left, center, etc.
