yes!! always felt the darkness was a super under-utilized aspect of the game and I think landmine barb is actually ay scarier and harder to deal with than landmine fighter haha.. good work!!

ive been running it myself i find myself often dropping the move speed instead of dropping the heal and then going for my armet build which makes for a bit easier when you make mistakes and attack to few or to many times but my favorite thing is ive use this shield play to learn to block with only the middle strip of shield so when i swap to going long sword i am so good at blocking ive started even blocking arrows and fran axes! c: i do recomend though a single thing and thats to just try cross bow as a way of attracting players into you i find it works often as they dont want to let me reload but also dont want to go in

@@YourBoyBlinn another recomendation is very small but simple of swapping dex out for strength c: i found having a very similar speed on each swing of aiming for 20 dex and 20 agility usauly gave me a set speed that was easier to work with c: and the strength gives some damage and health i usauly get it by swapping out the chest piece you run for the heavy gambeson. its very sim in stats and gives about the same move speed as it takes less from you <3 c: well that and i always wear armet helmet regardless of build but thats just style choice hope to see more awesome videos ~! found you while learning the game <3 already got 150 fame on fighter and almost purple rank on high rollers

haha that's awesome! does that lantern shield count as a weapon (and therefore activate the layer perk?) -- or are you just dual wielding but without the added bonus from slayer?

@@YourBoyBlinn it counts as far as I'm aware, but it doesn't work with dual wield. I suppose shields don't count as weapons for that perk. I noticed I get slayer buff icon but no dual wield icon

@@vitinhoaps no not faster. it's about the same movespeed, but the benefit is your shield is up and you can block!

I actually think that blocking with buckler + sword does make you move slightly faster than simply running with buckler + sword out, although not as fast as with bare hands. Blocking with buckler makes you move at 90% speed (see weapons page on dark & darker wikia for movement penalties during actions). Shield mastery gives +10% speed when blocking, (90% x 110% = 99%) so you'll be at 99% blocking with buckler. If you have a shield out, you should be at 99% MS + 10 flat ms, compared to 100% MS simply running with sword and shield out. This is faster unless you have 1000 move speed. Fists should still be faster though. Let's say you have the default 300 ms with fists out. With arming sword + buckler, that's 300 - 12 - 20 = 268 ms. You run with 268 ms with your weapons out. With the 2 perks, you block with (268 x .99) + 10 = 275.32 ms, so this is the faster way to run with weapons out, but slower than fists. Keep in mind this won't work with other shields. Only the buckler allows you to retain 90% of your original speed while blocking, all else turns you into turtle. Side note: I've seen Blinn run while guarding with rondel + buckler, that specific case should be slower because rondel doesn't count as a sword under sword mastery. The speed will be 99% compared to simply running with rondel + buckler equipped, although those weapons are light so he still blitzes them like a nightmare goblin 300 - 12 - 10 = 278 with weapons out, x .99 = 275.22 ms during goblin rush
