I've been trying to tell you for years you dont explain enough what you're doing or why you're doing it you have to finish the video to realize what you're doing you are teaching people how to read a micrometer just say that in the beginning and be nice to your wife you won't have those bruises😂

Ya for some kind of heathen! Machinists/tool makers/mold and die makers use dial calipers, period. Digital calipers are for lazy brains

I had to layout so many bolt circles when I was an apprentice. We didn’t have any cnc to do them on and a lot of the parts were too big to set up on a Bridgeport so we couldn’t use coordinates or a rotary table. I still remember the formula for figuring out the chord and setting trammels up for 29 holes on a 60” bolt circle. That’s been 25 years now.

I always say as being an ironworker if you know how to heat metal and cool it down you can straighten anything you can make it actually very close to being an original if you squint it nice to see you put water on it right turn off people know what the word squinch means that's when you put water on it with like a rag to cool it down which hardens the surface

Good point; it would introduce an error on a hub that has an odd number of holes. Maybe enough to matter, depending on what you intend to do and how tight your tolerances are.
@HOWEES
@HOWEES 10 сағат бұрын
It will give the dimensions between 2 holes of the same size, no mater if they are part of a bolt circle or not. Many times a bolt circle will have a single hole that is spaced differently so that the part only bolts up in one position.

A few years back. I showed some guys that. And the reply was, "why not just hold the pointers in the center of the holes". They just need a tape measure, not calipers at that point😮
